The structural insight of class III of polyhydroxyalkanoate synthase from Bacillus sp. PSA10 as revealed by in silico analysis

open access: yesIndonesian Journal of Biotechnology, 2020
PhaC synthase is an enzyme responsible for PHA polymerization. In this work, the catalytic mechanism class III of PhaC synthase from Bacillus sp. PSA10 (BacPhaCSynt) was reported through in silico modelling approach based on the primary sequence of the ...

Production of poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyhexanoate) by Ralstonia eutropha in high cell density palm oil fermentations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Improved production costs will accelerate commercialization of polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA) polymer and PHA-based products. Plant oils are considered favorable feedstocks, due to their high carbon content and relatively low price compared to sugars and ...

Enhanced Production of Astaxanthin and Zeaxanthin by Paracoccus Sp. LL1 Through Random Mutagenesis

open access: yesBiotechnology and Applied Biochemistry, Volume 73, Issue 1, Page 255-265, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Astaxanthin, a high‐value carotenoid with potent antioxidant and anti‐inflammatory activities, is increasingly in demand in various industries. This study reports the successful enhancement of astaxanthin and zeaxanthin production in Paracoccus sp. LL1 through random mutagenesis using ethyl methanesulfonate (EMS).

Polyhydroxyalkanoate synthases PhaC1 and PhaC2 from Pseudomonas stutzeri 1317 had different substrate specificities [PDF]

open access: yesFEMS Microbiology Letters, 2004
The whole polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA) synthesis gene locus of Pseudomonas stutzeri strain 1317 containing PHA synthase genes phaC1Ps, phaC2Ps and PHA depolymerase gene phaZPs was cloned using a PCR cloning strategy. The sequence analysis results of the phaC1Ps, phaC2Ps and phaZPs showed high homology to the corresponding pha loci of the known ...

Bioplastic (poly-3-hydroxybutyrate)-producing Massilia endophytica sp. nov., isolated from Cannabis sativa L. ‘Cheungsam’

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
A rod-shaped, motile, Gram-negative bacterial strain named DM-R-R2A-13T was isolated from the plant Cannabis sativa L. ‘Cheungsam’. The phylogenetic analysis of the 16S rRNA gene sequence revealed that strain DM-R-R2A-13T belongs to the family ...

Pan‐Genomic and Phenotypic Characterisation of Petroleum Hydrocarbon Degradation by Pseudomonas Species

open access: yesEnvironmental Microbiology Reports, Volume 18, Issue 1, February 2026.
Pseudomonas is one of the most significant bacterial genus involved in the petroleum hydrocarbon bioremediation. Innovatively, through pan‐genomic analysis at the genus level, we found that different Pseudomonas strains have excellent complementarity at the nodes of the degradation pathway of petroleum hydrocarbons.

Increased Production and Molecular Weight of Artificial Polyhydroxyalkanoate Poly(2-hydroxybutyrate) Above the Glass Transition Temperature Threshold

open access: yesFrontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology, 2019
Poly(2-hydroxybutyrate) [P(2HB)] is an artificial polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA) synthesized using engineered 2-hydroxyalkanoate-polymerizing PHA synthase. In the present study, the effect of temperature on P(2HB) synthesis was investigated.

An Efficient CO2‐Upcycling Platform Based on Engineered Halomonas TD with Enhanced Acetate‐Utilizing Capacity via Adaptive Laboratory Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 3, 14 January 2026.
An electrochemical system is designed to convert CO2 into CO2‐derived electrolytes (CDE), mainly containing acetate and formate. The underlying mechanism of acetate metabolism in Halomonas TD80 is explored via ALE. Engineered TD80 produced high‐yield diversified products from CDE.
