Carlitz operators and higher polylogarithm identities

open access: yesProceedings of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 130, Issue 3, March 2025.
Abstract We study a higher dimension generalization of Carlitz's polynomials, first introduced by Papanikolas, and compute an ∞$\infty$‐adic limit of a sequence of normalizations, relating it to the exponential function of an Anderson module that we completely describe.

Analytic Models of Brown Dwarfs and the Substellar Mass Limit

open access: yesAdvances in Astronomy, Volume 2016, Issue 1, 2016., 2016
We present the analytic theory of brown dwarf evolution and the lower mass limit of the hydrogen burning main‐sequence stars and introduce some modifications to the existing models. We give an exact expression for the pressure of an ideal nonrelativistic Fermi gas at a finite temperature, therefore allowing for nonzero values of the degeneracy ...

The k‐Augmented Pascal Matrix and Its Properties

open access: yesJournal of Mathematics, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
We define the k‐augmented Pascal matrix and present both a generalization and an alternative version of this matrix. We derive some properties of the defined matrices and establish a connection with generalized Stirling numbers and second‐order Eulerian numbers. Additionally, we provide a factorization of the k‐augmented Pascal matrix, highlighting its

The Mixed Phase of Charged AdS Black Holes

open access: yesAdvances in High Energy Physics, Volume 2016, Issue 1, 2016., 2016
We study the mixed phase of charged AdS black hole and radiation when the total energy is fixed below the threshold to produce a stable charged black hole branch. The coexistence conditions for the charged AdS black hole and radiation are derived for the generic case when radiation particles carry charge.

Summation Formulas Involving Binomial Coefficients, Harmonic Numbers, and Generalized Harmonic Numbers

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, Volume 2014, Issue 1, 2014., 2014
A variety of identities involving harmonic numbers and generalized harmonic numbers have been investigated since the distant past and involved in a wide range of diverse fields such as analysis of algorithms in computer science, various branches of number theory, elementary particle physics, and theoretical physics.

On general Dedekind sums

open access: yes
summary:As a far generalization of the Dedekind sum with the product of periodic Bernoulli polynomials, Mikolás introduced the Dedekind type sum $\mathcal {M}_c^{a,b}(w,z)$ with the product of the Hurwitz zeta-functions $\zeta (s,x ...
