A novel multiphase composite was developed to prevent premature failure of waterproofing layers in pig houses. The system, comprising polyurethane, asphalt, and calcium carbonate, achieves a 1.35 MPa bonding strength and resists corrosion via a synergistic crosslinking, buffering, and passivation mechanism.

COMPARATIVE STUDY OF THE EFFECTS OF MODIFIED ASPHALT PAVEMENT USING NANO AND POLYMERS [PDF]
The global demand for bitumen has increased dramatically recently in spite of its complex production process, which has led scientists to use additives such as polymer materials or nanomaterials to develop bitumen's rheological and mechanical properties.

Influence of mineral fillers on the rheological response of polymer-modified bitumens and mastics
The rheological properties of the bituminous components (bitumen and bituminous mastic) within asphalt mixtures contribute significantly to the major distresses of flexible pavements (i.e. rutting, fatigue and low temperature cracking).

Polymer modified bitumen: Rheological properties and structural characterization [PDF]
Polymer modified bitumen (PMB) is used extensively in thin asphalt surfacing and seals in order toimprove specific performances. However, the performances of PMB are not easy to demonstrate with theconventional methods, such as penetration test ...
