Fiber optic polymer cure sensor
Journal of Lightwave Technology, 1988An in situ method is presented for monitoring the curing of polymeric compositions, including epoxy- and polymide-based composites. The sensor measures the difference between the refractive index of the cured and uncured composition, with the index increasing as polymerization proceeds.

Polymer optical fiber amplifiers
2012 14th International Conference on Transparent Optical Networks (ICTON), 2012We develop Europium complexes and are now integrating them covalently into the polymer chains of PMMA. Monomer free polymer preforms are prepared, from which optical fibers are drawn. Our aim is to use these fibers as optical amplifiers at about 614 nm for in-house communication systems.

Modeling of Polymer Optical Fibers
2013The idea of this chapter is to give a complete overview on a matrix approach to describe light propagation in strongly multimode fibers such as 1-mm diameter plastic optical fibers. These large core fibers accept such a huge number of travelling modes that they can be viewed as a continuum.
