Synthesis and characterizations of degradable aliphatic-aromatic copolyesters from lactic acid, dimethyl terephthalate and diol: Effects of diol type and monomer feed ratio

open access: yeseXPRESS Polymer Letters, 2010
Lactic acid-based aliphatic/aromatic copolyesters are synthesized to incorporate the degradability of polylactic acid and good mechanical properties of aromatic species by using polycondensation of lactic acid (LA), dimethyl terephthalate (DMT), and ...

Optoelectronic Synaptic Devices Using Molecular Telluride Phase‐Change Inks for Three‐Factor Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Optoelectronic synaptic devices based on solution‐processed molecular telluride GST‐225 phase‐change inks are demonstrated for three‐factor learning. A global optical signal broadcast through a silicon waveguide induces non‐volatile conductance updates exclusively in locally electrically flagged memristors.

The synthesis of new main-chain liquid crystalline polymers as materials for non-linear optics [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
The work described in this thesis is concerned with the synthesis of new main-chain liquid crystalline polymers. A new series of liquid crystalline monomers based on an unsymmetrically disubstituted stilbene containing alcohol and carboxylic acid, groups

Microenvironmental Reprogramming by 3D Anisotropic Cardiac Extracellular Matrix Induces Nuclear Remodeling and Epigenetic Maturation of Chemically Induced Cardiomyocytes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A 3D anisotropic hydrogel derived from heart extracellular matrix guides cytoskeletal alignment and nuclear remodeling in reprogrammed cardiomyocyte‐like cells. This study reveals how matrix alignment modulates nuclear envelope dynamics and chromatin state, triggering transcriptional and functional maturation.

A study of the physical properties of polymer monolayers spread at the air-water interface [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
An account is given of the methods of anionic polymerisation and characterisation used to prepare polymer samples, and the experimental methods used to examine their interfacial properties, when spread as so-called Langmuir monolayers on water ...

Synthesis of biodegradable thermoplastic elastomers (BTPE) based on ε-caprolactone

open access: yeseXPRESS Polymer Letters, 2010
Aiming to mimic blood vessels, biodegradable thermoplastic elastomer (BTPE) is designed to be elastic, flexible and tough. A series of biodegradable triblock copolymers and poly(ester-urethanes) (PEU) based on ε-caprolactone have been synthesized ...

Receptor‐Free Identification of Toxic Gases Enabled by Hygroscopic Aqueous Salt Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Water as a gas sensor coating sounds impossible—until it stops evaporating. Here, hygroscopic salt solutions (LiCl, LiBr, H3PO4) form non‐drying aqueous films on CNT chemiresistors under ambient air. Gases partition into these liquid layers, sometimes transforming into water, and generate salt‐specific resistance fingerprints across a four‐channel ...

A development of a molecularly imprinted polymer: Specific for ochratoxin A: Theoretical and sensor applications

open access: yes, 2004
In this work the development of two molecularly imprinted polymers, specific for ochratoxin A, is presented. Ochratoxin A is produced by several Aspergillus and Penicillium species and is common in cereals and other starch rich foods and has also been

Novel azo-peresters radical initiators used for the synthesis of acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesives

open access: yeseXPRESS Polymer Letters, 2008
Acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesives (PSA) based on two monomers: 2-ethylhexyl acrylate and acrylic acid were synthesized in organic solvent ethyl acetate using AIBN (2, 2'-azo-diisobutyronitrile) and new synthesized azo-peresters as radical ...

Regulated Ion‐Diffusion Hydrogels for Subtle and Multimodal Temperature‐Strain Sensing in Wound Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A soft, dual‐channel hydrogel patch enables simultaneous detection of wound temperature and strain by integrating ion‐diffusion‐mediated thermoelectric and resistive sensing. The conformal design maintains stable performance during motion, capturing subtle inflammatory and mechanical changes for continuous wound monitoring.
