Application of Two-Dimensional Correlation Analysis to Explosives Detection and Polymer Crystallization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
This thesis presents two novel applications of two-dimensional (2D) correlation analysis: (1) long standoff detection of explosives and (2) morphology development in semicrystalline materials. Due to the dangers of improvised explosive devices (IEDs),

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Development of advanced nanosized molecularly inprinted polymers via surface-initiatied 'living' radical polymerisation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Surface-initiated photo-iniferter mediated controlled polymerisation was used as a technique for the development of advanced and smart materials. Molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) shell nanoparticles (NPs) were synthesised in this way from PAMAM ...

Environment-friendly synthesis of long chain semiaromatic polyamides

open access: yeseXPRESS Polymer Letters, 2009
Long chain semiaromatic polyamides were synthesized by the reactions of p-phenylenediacetic acid with long chain aliphatic diamines, and characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and by proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1H NMR ...

PARP inhibitors induce a senescence phenotype in non‐small cell lung carcinoma cell lines

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Talazoparib is the most potent inducer of senescence among different PARP1 inhibitors in human NSCLC cells. In the absence of PARP, no senescence phenotype was observed, demonstrating that PARP1 is necessary for the induction of senescence by this inhibitor.

Polymer-clay Nanocomposites

open access: yes, 2004
PhDPolymer-clay nanocomposites are attracting global interest principally because property enhancements are obtained at low clay particle loadings (1-5 wt%). However there is lack of fundamental understanding of such composites.

Synthesis and characterization of poly(vinylchloride) type macrophotoinitiator comprising side-chain thioxanthone via click chemistry

open access: yeseXPRESS Polymer Letters, 2011
Nowadays, the use of macromolecular photoinitiators provides for a good compatibility of the initiator in the formulation. Moreover, the migration of the initiator to the surface of the material is prevented, which results in low-odor and non-toxic ...

Quantitative proteomic analysis reveals different characteristics of bladder cancer cells after exposure to bisphenol A

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Bisphenol A (BPA), a common chemical in plastics, exerts dual effects on bladder cancer cells: low doses promote growth and migration, while high doses suppress growth and migration. Multi‐omics and bioinformatics reveal BPA acts via MAPK and inflammatory pathways.
