Optimizing 3D Bin Packing of Heterogeneous Objects Using Continuous Transformations in SE(3)

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This article presents a method for solving the three‐dimensional bin packing problem for heterogeneous objects using continuous rigid‐body transformations in SE(3). A heuristic optimization framework combines signed‐distance functions, neural network approximations, point‐cloud bin modeling, and physics simulation to ensure feasibility and stability ...

Pre‐Curved Everting Robots With Embedded Steering Intelligence Fabricated by CO2 Laser Welding

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Design and experimental demonstration of a laser welded growing robot for anatomically guided navigation. The robot follows an aortic arch phantom entering the branchiocephalic branch through steering by design. The figure shows the physical phantom setup, CAD defined weld geometry and full robot eversion.

Generalized Task‐Driven Design of Soft Robots via Reduced‐Order Finite Element Method‐Based Surrogate Modeling

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
A unified, reusable modeling pipeline enables task‐driven design of soft robots across actuator families and task scenarios. High‐fidelity simulations are compressed into compact pseudo‐rigid‐body joint surrogates, while a design‐conditioned meta‐model generates new surrogates from geometry parameters without rerunning finite element method.

Interpolation Approach to Polynomial Matrix Triangularization

open access: yes, 1997
: An interpolation approach to reduction into triangular form of an arbitrary polynomial matrix is proposed. Triangularization over the field of polynomial fractions is shown to be equivalent to triangularization of an interpolated matrix over the field ...

2d Polynomial Interpolation: A Symbolic Approach with Mathematica

open access: yes, 2005
This paper extends a previous work done by the same authors on teaching 1d polynomial interpolation using Mathematica [1] to higher dimensions. In this work, it is intended to simplify the the theoretical discussions in presenting multidimensional ...

The Effects of Enzyme Pretreatment Extraction on Lipid Recovery With Normal Phase HPLC

open access: yesJournal of the American Oil Chemists' Society, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT With the increasing interest in the commercialization of microalgal fermentation‐based products, sustainable and efficient oil extraction methods have been developed for manufacturing and analytical testing. Due to the variability and resilience of micro‐algae cell walls, traditional lipid extraction methods such as Folch and Bligh and Dyer ...

Scanning Parametric Sediment Echosounder as Tool for Underwater Archaeological Prospection

open access: yesArchaeological Prospection, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Underwater cultural heritage 3D prospection techniques, especially for remains that are partly buried in the ground, are only very rarely available and often can only be applied with considerable technical effort. To overcome this limitation, we evaluate a methodological adaption of widely used and available single channel parametric sediment ...

Interpolation methods for spatial distribution of groundwater mapping electrical conductivity

open access: yesScientific Reports
This study was carried out to develop a conceptual framework for determining the best interpolation method which mainly is employed to calculate the variability maps of electrical conductivity (EC) in neighboring regions.

Multivariate Polynomial Interpolation for Cubical Zero-Dimensional Schemes

open access: yesAxioms
We compute the multigraded Hilbert function of general unions of certain degree-8 zero-dimensional schemes, called 2cubes, for the Segre 3-folds and the three-dimensional smooth quadric hypersurface.
