Inhomogeneous Gradient Poiseuille Flows of a Vertically Swirled Fluid [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied and Computational Mechanics
An exact solution is proposed for describing the steady-state and unsteady gradient Poiseuille shear flow of a viscous incompressible fluid in a horizontal infinite layer.

Polynomial poly-vector fields

open access: yes, 2004
In this text we give a decomposition result on polynomial poly-vector fields generalizing a result on the decomposition of homogeneous Poisson structures. We discuss consequences of this decomposition result in particular for low dimensions and low degrees.

Zeroes of complete polynomial vector fields [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 2003
We prove that a complete polynomial vector field on C 2 \mathbb {C}^{2} has at most one zero, and analyze the possible cases of those with exactly one which is not of Poincaré-Dulac type. We also obtain the possible nonzero first jet singularities of the foliation

Darboux integrability for polynomial vector fields on the 2-dimensional sphere [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
The paper is organized as follows. In section 2 we present a summary of the main results of the Darbouxian theory of integrability for the planar polynomial vector fields that we will extend to polynomial vector fields on the 2-dimensional sphere.

The Liouville-type theorem for integrable Hamiltonian systems with incomplete flows

open access: yes, 2012
For integrable Hamiltonian systems with two degrees of freedom whose Hamiltonian vector fields have incomplete flows, an analogue of the Liouville theorem is established.

Polynomial differential systems with explicit non-algebraic limit cycles

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2012
Up to now all the examples of polynomial differential systems for which non-algebraic limit cycles are known explicitly have degree at most 5. Here we show that already there are polynomial differential systems of degree at least exhibiting explicit ...

Solvability of the cohomological equation for regular vector fields on the plane

open access: yes, 2010
We consider planar vector field without zeroes X and study the image of the associated Lie derivative operator LX acting on the space of smooth functions. We show that the cokernel of LX is infinite-dimensional as soon as X is not topologically conjugate

Upper Bounds of the Complexity of Functions over Finite Fields in Some Classes of Kroneker Forms

open access: yesИзвестия Иркутского государственного университета: Серия "Математика", 2015
Polynomial representations of Boolean functions have been studied well enough. Recently, the interest to polynomial representations of functions over finite fields and over finite rings is being increased.

Periodic perturbations of quadratic planar polynomial vector fields [PDF]

open access: yesAnais da Academia Brasileira de Ciências, 2002
In this work are studied periodic perturbations, depending on two parameters, of quadratic planar polynomial vector fields having an infinite heteroclinic cycle, which is an unbounded solution joining two saddle points at infinity. The global study envolving infinity is performed via the Poincaré compactification.
