3D‐Printing Aided Rapid Prototyping of Pretensioned Tensegrity Structures for Robotic Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Printing, injection molding, and assembly (PMA) is a method for rapid prototyping mesoscale, topologically complex, and tensioned tensegrity structures. In combination with PMA method, two mold design strategies: modular mold and compact channel layout, enable efficiency and scalability for tensegrity fabrication.

On plane polynomial vector fields and the Poincare problem

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2002
In this paper we address the Poincare problem, on plane polynomial vector fields, under some conditions on the nature of the singularities of invariant curves.

Support vector machine model for regression applied to the estimation of the creep rupture stress in ferritic steels

open access: yesRevista Facultad de Ingeniería Universidad de Antioquia, 2013
Having as antecedent the use of artificial neural networks (ANN) in the estimation of the creep rupture stress in ferritic steels, new experiments have been developed using Support Vector Machine for Regression (SVMR), a recently method developed into ...

SPHGen: A Program Generator for Fast Polynomial Hash Functions

open access: yesTransactions on Cryptographic Hardware and Embedded Systems
Universal hash functions are a widely-used, fundamental building block in constructing more complex cryptographic schemes. This makes achieving high efficiency, both at the design and implementation level, an utmost priority.

On spectra and affine strict polynomial functors

open access: yes, 2015
We compare derived categories of the category of strict polynomial functors over a finite field and the category of ordinary endofunctors on the category of vector spaces.

Finitely curved orbits of complex polynomial vector fields [PDF]

open access: yesAnais da Academia Brasileira de Ciências, 2007
This note is about the geometry of holomorphic foliations. Let X be a polynomial vector field with isolated singularities on C². We announce some results regarding two problems: 1. Given a finitely curved orbit L of X, under which conditions is L algebraic? 2. If X has some non-algebraic finitely curved orbit L what is the classification of X?

Microscale Mapping of Fiber Strain and Damage in Composite Wrinkled Laminates Using Computed Tomography Assisted Wide‐Angle X‐Ray Scattering

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study combines full‐field tomography with diffraction mapping to quantify radial (ε002$\varepsilon _{002}$) and axial (ε100$\varepsilon _{100}$) lattice strain in wrinkled carbon‐fiber specimens for the first time. Radial microstrain gradients (−14.5 µεMPa$\varepsilon \mathrm{MPa}$−1) are found to signal damage‐prone zones ahead of failure, which ...

Proton FLASH Exposure Preserves Gut Commensal Microbiomes and Spares Intestinal Stem Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study highlights the role of Proton FLASH abdominal irradiation in sparing of intestinal stem cells and preservation of key gut microbial population resulting minimization of radiation toxicity in intestinal epithelium in mice. Our findings support the potential of Proton FLASH to improve the therapeutic ratio for abdominal radiation exposure ...

Direct Photocurrent Detection of Optical Vortex Based on the Orbital Photo Galvanic Effect: Progress, Challenge, and Perspective

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Direct orbital angular momentum (OAM) detection through the orbital photogalvanic effect offers a scalable route for integrated optoelectronics. This perspective evaluates symmetry‐driven material selection and demonstrates how electrode matrices enable the resolution of complex, mixed OAM modes.
