Sprayable Polyolefin Sorbents Enabled by Bio‐Solvents for Large‐Scale Oil and Chemical Spill Recovery

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
A sprayable POE‐based sorbent formulated with a green solvent blend of α‐pinene, D‐limonene, and p‐cymene enables rapid in situ film formation via solvent evaporation, allowing efficient pollutant capture. The system exhibits high oil uptake (37.3 g g−1) and effectively removes up to 60 mL of VLSFO under simulated marine spill conditions.

Study on the onset mechanism of bio-blister degradation of polyolefin by diatom attachment in seawater

open access: yesScientific Reports
It is essential to develop a mechanism for lowering the molecular weight of polyolefins to achieve biodegradation in seawater. In this study, a polypropylene/polylactic acid blend sample was first subjected to photodegradation pretreatment, and it was ...

Experimental Study on Polymer–Polymer Interfacial Thermal Resistance

open access: yesMacromolecular Theory and Simulations, Volume 34, Issue 2, March 2025.
Interfacial thermal resistance (ITR) in polymer–polymer interfaces is experimentally measured in this paper by the multi‐layered bulk sample approach. Based on numerical simulation and experimental verification, new techniques of layer‐overlapping samples are developed.

Quantification of Homopolymer Impurities in Structured Acrylate Copolymers Produced by High‐Temperature Semi‐Batch Radical Polymerization

open access: yesMacromolecular Reaction Engineering, EarlyView.
Isobornyl acrylate macromonomer solutions are synthesized via high‐temperature radical polymerization using a starved‐feed semi‐batch operating policy. Through sequential feeding, the macromonomer solution functions as an addition‐fragmentation agent, facilitating the production of blocky and comb acrylate copolymers.

Behavior of a Novel Cyclic Olefin‐Based Hot‐Melt Adhesive in CFRP Adhesive Joints Compared to Conventional Epoxy‐Based Structural Adhesives

open access: yesPolymer Composites, EarlyView.
Rate‐dependent performance of composite adhesive joints using thermoset and thermoplastic adhesives, in terms of toughness and fatigue behaviour. ABSTRACT A recently developed hot‐melt adhesive (HMA) based on cyclic olefin chemistry, supplied as a transparent, non‐tacky thermoplastic film with a distinctive polymer microstructure, was evaluated in this

The chemical behavior of terminally tert-butylated polyolefins

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2015
The chemical behavior of various oligoenes 2 has been studied. The catalytic hydrogenation of diene 3 yielded monoene 4. Triene 7 was hydrogenated to diene 8, monoene 9 and saturated hydrocarbon 10.
