Nasal polyps are a common aetiology for persistent nasal obstruction. While antrochoanal polyps predominate the literature, the lesser known sphenochoanal polyp is equally as bothersome. To our knowledge, no prior dedicated review exists that characterises the patient population affected by this disease.

Gastric Polyp: Inflammatory Fibroid Polyp, Hyperplastic Polyp, and Inverted Hamartomatous Polyp
2020Inflammatory fibroid polyps (IFPs) are rare mesenchymal lesions in which histologically spindle cells proliferate in the submucosal layer [1, 2]. Despite occurrence of IFPs throughout the gastrointestinal tract, they are most commonly found in the gastric antrum (66–75%) [3].

Carcinoma of the large bowel arises almost exclusively in neoplastic polyps, which are present in 5-10% of the population over age 40. These polyps may be of three histologic types: (a) tubular adenoma (adenomatous polyp), (b) tubulovillous adenoma (villoglandular polyp), and (c) villous adenoma.

Nasal polyps are as common as adult onset asthma and unilateral polyps require histological examination. Medical therapy with corticosteroids should be tried before surgery. The anatomy should be demonstrated with computed tomography before endoscopic surgery.

Gastrointestinal polyps and polyp syndromes in adolescents
Adolescnet Medicine Clinics, 2004Although gastrointestinal polyps are more common in the first decade of life than during adolescence, underlying genetic polyposis syndromes are more likely in adolescents. Abstract: We report three patients, ages 5 years 3 years. and 4 days, with umbilical polyps. In the third child the polyp was associated with an umbilical enteric fistula. An umbilical polyp is the result of incomplet closure of the omphalomesenteric duct and becomes apparent after the umbilical cord is detached.

A carbuncle usually presents as a deep-seated mass of fistulous tracts between infected hair follicles. We present a case in which what appeared to be an inflamed, benign neoplasm turned out to be a very unusual presentation for this condition, the first we could find in the literature.

Differentiation of “Polyp” and “Pseudo Polyp” in Gallbladder Polyps, Single-center Experience
Surgical Laparoscopy, Endoscopy & Percutaneous TechniquesObjective: The prevalence of gallbladder polyps is 0.3% to 9.5%. Gallbladder polyps are divided into polyps and pseudo polyps. We aim to determine the rate of polyps after histopathologic examination in patients who were operated on for gallbladder polyps and to choose the factors affecting the diagnosis of polyps.
