Polypropylene

Ophthalmology, 1981
Polypropylene is a polymer widely used in lens implantation, both as a loop material and as an intracameral suture. The chemistry and qualities of this material are discussed. Predicated on its usage in other types of surgery, it appears to be resistant to degradation.

Polypropylene nanocomposite with polypropylene-grafted graphene

Macromolecular Research, 2016
A method for grafting polypropylene (PP) onto graphene oxide (GO) surfaces was successfully established by functionalizing GO with (3-aminopropyl)triethoxysilane (NH2-t-GO) and grafting maleic-anhydride-grafted PP (MAPP) on NH2-t-GO (MAPP-g-GO). The PP/GO nanocomposites were prepared by compounding MAPP-g-GO with virgin PP.

Polypropylene–polysilsesquioxane blends

European Polymer Journal, 2010
Abstract This paper deals with the preparation of PP/polysilsesquioxane blends and their study to investigate silsesquioxane dispersion, mechanical properties, thermal stability and combustion properties by means of a number of techniques, such as SEM, XRD, Rheology, TGA, DSC, Cone Calorimeter tests and LOI. Polysilsesquioxane with different organic

Microstructure of polypropylene

Progress in Polymer Science, 2001
Abstract For over thirty years after the discovery of stereoselective olefin polymerization in 1954, the word ‘polypropylene’ has meant, both scientifically and commercially, little else than the predominantly isotactic polymer achievable with the classical heterogeneous Ziegler–Natta catalysts.

Polypropylene/organoclay nanocomposites compatibilized with hydroxyl‐functional polypropylenes

Journal of Polymer Science Part B: Polymer Physics, 2005
AbstractThe properties of polypropylene composites can be tailored through the use of nanoclay fillers. The effectiveness of a metallocene‐catalyzed hydroxyl‐functional polypropylene in the compatibilization of polypropylene layered nanosilicate composites was studied, and the results were compared with those for a commercial maleic anhydride ...
