Near‐Infrared‐Driven Metal–Organic Frameworks‐Based Nanorobots for Controlled Photothermal‐Chemical Therapy Synergistic Induction of Cancer Cell Death

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
To achieve efficient cancer cell death, a bowl‐shaped PDA@UiO‐66@DOX nanorobot drug‐delivery nanoplatform was developed. Near‐infrared irradiation not only drives the nanorobot to exhibit self‐thermophoretic motion and elevates temperature but also triggers Doxorubicin (DOX) release via hyperthermia, enhancing cancer cells uptake of DOX and thereby ...

Photodegradation of polypropylenes with clarifying agent

open access: yes, 2015
The work compared the effect of α-nucleating/clarifying agent based on 1,3;2,4-bis(3,4-dimethylbenzylidene)sorbitol on the photodegradation in two polypropylenes (PP). One of them was nucleated directly by producer while the second in the laboratory. For

Gait Analysis of Pak Biawak: A Necrobot Lizard Built using the Skeleton of an Asian Water Monitor (Varanus Salvator)

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Pak Biawak, a necrobot, embodies an unusual fusion of biology and robotics. Designed to repurpose natural structures after death, it challenges conventional boundaries between nature and engineering. Its movements are precise yet unsettling, raising questions about sustainability, ethics, and the untapped potential of biointegrated machines.

Influence of Viscosity Ratio on the Mechanical, Morphological, and Rheological Properties of Thermoplastic Dynamic Vulcanizates from Devulcanized Tire Rubber and Polypropylene

open access: yesMacromolecular Materials and Engineering
In this study, we examined the effect of matrix viscosity on the properties of thermoplastic dynamic vulcanizates (TDV) produced using devulcanized ground tire rubber (dGTR) and polypropylene (PP).

Deconvolution Analyses of Differential Scanning Calorimetry Profiles of β-Crystallized Polypropylenes with Synchronized X-ray Measurements

open access: yes, 2016
Phase transformations during heating of β-crystallized isotactic polypropylenes were investigated by simultaneous SAXS, WAXD, and DSC measurements. The isotactic polypropylene samples containing the larger amount of β-form crystals were prepared by a ...

In Vivo Microplastic Detection With Photoacoustic Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Microplastics are posing an escalating threat to both ecological systems and human health. Yet, current methods for investigating their bioaccumulation are highly invasive, requiring destructive analysis of ex vivo tissues via mass spectrometry, dye labelling, or Raman microspectroscopy.

Nanocellulose Alleviates Intrahepatic Cholestasis of Pregnancy via Gut Microbiota‐Mediated Bile Acid Homeostasis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nanocellulose, derived from microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) through sulfuric acid hydrolysis or mechanical grinding to produce CNC or CNF, was tested in a rat ICP model. Particularly, CNF improved gut microbiota composition, reduced secondary bile acid metabolism, and restored bile acid homeostasis through modulation of the gut–liver axis.
