Polysilanes on surfaces

Soft Matter, 2008
For chain-like polymers on surfaces, the relationship between chain topology and inherent physical properties has long been puzzling due to the lack of proper models and detection systems with ultrahigh sensitivity and high accuracy. Among various chain-like polymers, soluble organopolysilane is one suitable model for elucidating the uniqueness of ...

Photoelectron spectra of polysilanes

Physical Review B, 1986
Some organopolysilanes (high-molecular-weight polymers which only contain silicon atoms in their backbone) can be used as highly sensitive, self-developing uv photoresists. To understand the electronic structure of polysilanes and help rationalize their solid-state uv photosensitivity, we have recorded the photoelectron spectra of several polysilanes ...

Conductivities of polysilanes

Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 1996
Measurements of the electrical conductivities of three types of polysilanes were carried out over a range of dc fields and temperatures. These polymers are varied in substituents and structures with formulas of [C 6 H 5 SiCH 3 ] n , [(C 6 H 5 SiCH 3 ) 70 (CH 3 SiH) 30 ] n , and [(C 6 H 5 SiCH 3 ) 50 (C 6 H 5 SiH) 30 (CH 3 Si) 20 ] n .

Über Polysilane. V. Oxydationsprodukte des Polysilan(I)

A Branched Polysilane

Acta Crystallographica Section C Crystal Structure Communications, 1995
2,2,5,5-Tetrakis(trimethylsilyl)-1,1,1,3,3,4,4,6,6,6-decamethylhexasilane, C 22 H 66 Si 10 , is a polysilane in which the longest chain is made up of six Si atoms and branching occurs at the second and fifth Si atoms. Each of the two central Si atoms is bonded to a tris(trimethylsilyl)silyl group in an anti arrangement.

Properties and applications of polysilanes

Applied Organometallic Chemistry, 2020
This review article presents an overview of the unique properties of polysilanes, attributed mainly to the existence of σ‐conjugation along the all‐silicon backbone. The most recent and exciting applications of polysilanes will also be highlighted.

Photocreated metastable states in polysilanes

Physical Review B, 1994
Photocreated metastable states in organopolysilane (PSi) solids are observed using the electron-spin-resonance (ESR) technique. Two types of light-induced ESR (LESR) spectra are found depending on the excitation photon energy. These two types of LESR centers are annihilated by thermal annealing.
