Sodium-sulfur battery flight experiment definition study [PDF]

open access: yes
NaS batteries have been identified as the most likely successor to space Ni-H2 or Ni-Cd batteries, primarily due to a mass reduction by a factor 2 to 3 over Ni-H2 and by a factor of 4 over Ni-Cd.

Intimate Heterostructured Electrocatalyst for Functional Tandem Catalysts of Lithium Polysulfides in Separator‐Modified Lithium‐Sulfur Batteries

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
An intimate MIL‐88A@CdS heterostructure electrocatalyst has been designed as an effective modified separator for Li‐S batteries. This configuration highlights the size‐contrasting heterostructures, which play a crucial role in achieving effective sulfur electrocatalysis, and integrates the strengths of strong polysulfide adsorption with the capable ...

Assessing the Effect of Large Igneous Provinces on Global Oceanic Redox Conditions Using Non‐traditional Metal Isotopes (Molybdenum, Uranium, Thallium)

open access: yesGeophysical Monograph Series, Page 305-323., 2021

Exploring the links between Large Igneous Provinces and dramatic environmental impact

An emerging consensus suggests that Large Igneous Provinces (LIPs) and Silicic LIPs (SLIPs) are a significant driver of dramatic global environmental and biological changes, including mass extinctions.

Precision‐Engineered Nanocatalysts Via Lattice Tailoring and d‐Band Center Modulation for High‐Performance Lithium‐Sulfur Batteries

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
Benefiting from the dual‐defect engineering of P doping and oxygen vacancies, P‐Ov‐TiO2 catalysts with exposed {101} crystal facets possess optimized lattice structure and d‐band center. The synergistic effect accelerated the charge transfer and the long‐ and short‐chain LiPSs conversion kinetics.

Solubility, stability, and electrochemical studies of sulfur-sulfide solutions in organic solvents [PDF]

open access: yes
A preliminary study of the sulfur electrode in organic solvents suggests that the system warrants further investigation for use in a low temperature (100 deg to 120 C) Na-S secondary battery.
