MicrobiologyopenThis study determined the presence of extended‐spectrum beta‐lactamase‐producing Escherichia coli (ESBL‐EC) in seafood samples in Bangladesh. The findings also indicated that ESBL‐EC showed higher phenotypic resistance profiles and contained ESBL‐related resistance genes.
