Inhibition of immunoglobulin E production by Poncirus trifoliata fruit extract

Journal of Ethnopharmacology, 1999
Immunoglobulin E (IgE) is the principal immunoglobulin involved in immediate hypersensitivities and chronic allergic diseases. The effect of an aqueous extract of Poncirus trifoliata (L) Raf. (Rutaceae) fruits (PTFE) on in vivo and in vitro IgE production was investigated.

Poncirus trifoliata fruit induces apoptosis in human promyelocytic leukemia cells

Clinica Chimica Acta, 2004
Substances inducing apoptosis have shown efficacy in the treatment of cancers. Poncirus trifoliata (L.) Raf. (Rutaceae) fruits (PTF) has been used for the treatment of various cancers among Korean Oriental Medical doctors.PTF-induced cytotoxicity of human leukemia HL-60 cells was monitored by the MTT assay. The apoptosis was determined by (a) apoptotic

Genetic Transformation of Poncirus trifoliata (Trifoliate Orange)

2000
Poncirus is closely related to Citrus, and only one species, Poncirus trifoliata Raf. (Trifoliate orange), is recognized in this genus. This species is cultivated in China, Japan, Europe, and North America, and is sometimes used as a hedge, and the dried fruits as a medicine in China (Hodgson 1967).

Somatic Hybridization Between Citrus sinensis and Poncirus trifoliata

1994
Citrus and Poncirus belong to the family Rutaceae. Citrus includes many commercially important fruit species such as sweet orange (C. sinensis), mandarin (C. reticulata), lemon (C. limon), grapefruit (C. paradisi), and is grown in over 100 countries in tropical and subtropical areas spreading over approximately 40° latitude. On the other hand, Poncirus

Cryopreservation of embryonic axes of trifoliate orange (Poncirus trifoliata [L.] RAF.)

Plant Cell Reports, 1992
Halved shoot bases of Allium tuberosum Rottl. ex Spreng. proliferated both axillary and adventitious shoots on B5 medium (1968) supplemented with either 6-benzylaminopurine (0.5 mg/l) or 1-naphthalene acetic acid (0.1 mg/l) and 2-isopentenyladenine (0.5 mg/l).

Cold-induced dehydrins from Poncirus trifoliata localized in the nucleus

Journal of Plant Biochemistry and Biotechnology, 2011
Cold regulated dehydrins, COR11, COR19 and the C-terminal part of the COR11 genes from Poncirus trifoliata were amplified and cloned into the pCAMBIA1301 binary vector as fusion with beta-glucuronidase (GUS) reporter gene to determine functionality of the bipartite nuclear localization signal (NLS).

EST-SSR genetic maps for Citrus sinensis and Poncirus trifoliata

Tree Genetics & Genomes, 2007
The segregation of 141 polymorphic expressed sequence tag-simple sequence repeat (EST-SSR) markers in an F1 intergeneric citrus population was studied to build the first extensive EST maps for the maternal sweet orange and paternal Poncirus genomes. Of these markers, 122 were found segregating in sweet orange, 59 in Poncirus, and 40 in both.

Effect of Arbuscular Mycorrhiza on the Drought Tolerance of Poncirus trifoliata Seedlings

Frontiers of Forestry in China, 2006
The effects of Glomus mosseae colonization on the plant growth and drought tolerance of 1-year-old trifoliate Poncirus trifoliata seedlings in potted culture were studied in natural water stress and rewatering conditions. Results showed that arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) inoculation significantly improved the height, stem diameter, and fresh weight of P.

Transcriptome responses to phosphate deficiency in Poncirus trifoliata (L.) Raf

Acta Physiologiae Plantarum, 2014
Phosphorus (P) is an essential macronutrient for plant growth and development; however, soil P available for plant absorption is often limited, putting constraints over agricultural sustainability. Understanding the physiological and molecular responses to P deficiency can help design strategies for diagnosis and mitigation of P deficiency in crop ...
