Prediction Model for Etiologic Differentiation of Isolated Vestibular Syndrome in Emergency Settings

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective This study aimed to develop and validate a predictive model for differentiating central from peripheral etiologies in patients with isolated vestibular syndrome (VS). Methods In this multicenter retrospective cohort study, 506 patients with isolated VS from five hospitals were divided into derivation (n = 301) and validation (n = 205)

Survival of Population III stars

Proceedings of the International Astronomical Union, 2018
AbstractIn our earlier studyDutta (2016a), it has been shown that a number of primordial protostars (the ‘first stars’ in the Universe, also known as Population III or Pop III stars) are being ejected from the cluster of their origin with the velocity exceeding their escape velocity.

Observational manifestations of population III stars

Astrophysics, 1987
The thermal history of gas heated by explosions of population III stars at red shifts z approx. 100 is calculated. The distortions in the spectrum of the microwave radiation and the intensity of the resulting x rays are determined. Bounds on the energy release produced by the explosions of such stars are compared with available observations.

GRAVITATIONAL COLLAPSE OF POPULATION III STARS

The Eleventh Marcel Grossmann Meeting, 2008
▌ The expected diffuse cosmic neutrino flux produced by Pop III stars during their nuclear burning and their core-collapse phases▌ Estimated flux is comparable to the diffuse neutrino fluxes produced by ordinary SNe. However, due to the large cosmological redshift, the typical energies are MeV and sub-MeV, where the other components dominate.
