Y/E Index in a Swedish Population
Acta geneticae medicae et gemellologiae, 1971SummaryThe Y/E index (Y/16-18 chromosomes) has been studied in a Swedish population of 74 men. The following results have been obtained: M = 0.734 ± 0.0238 with a range from 0.57 to 0.90. The values agree well with those of a Finnish population previously described. The use of the Y/E index in 15 paternity cases is exemplified.

The disposition index: from individual to population approach
American Journal of Physiology-Endocrinology and Metabolism, 2012To correctly evaluate the glucose control system, it is crucial to account for both insulin sensitivity and secretion. The disposition index (DI) is the most widely accepted method to do so. The original paradigm (hyperbolic law) consists of the multiplicative product of indices related to insulin sensitivity and secretion, but more recently, an ...

Generalization of the Population Density Index Model
Perceptual and Motor Skills, 1991The author's population density index (PDI) model was previously derived for the measurement of population density in studies employing 100 density points or less. The PDI model is now generalized through a derived equation which allows its basic component, the unit lattice average Euclidean distance, to be calculated for any finite lattice rectangle ...

Nutrition and Health
Background: While there are numerous dietary quality indices for individuals, a longitudinal population-level index is missing from the literature. This article presents a novel population-level dietary index, the Population Eating Quality Index (PEQI) that measures a country’s annual dietary quality.

Index of Population Consumption Prices [PDF]
Practically it is impossible to survey and record the prices for all the goods and services being consumed by the population during a given period of time. That’s why, for surveying and recording these statistic data, a sample of goods and services is utilized, which must be representative through the consumption and prices structure, so that the out ...
