Sterile Insect Technique: Successful Suppression of an Aedes aegypti Field Population in Cuba
Simple Summary The sterile insect technique (SIT) is a species-specific and environment-friendly method of insect control that relies on the release of large numbers of sterile insects.

A comprehensive genomic and proteomic analysis of cervical cancer revealed STK11 and STX3 as a potential biomarkers of chemoradiation resistance. Our study demonstrated EGFR as a therapeutic target, paving the way for precision strategies to overcome treatment failure and the DNA repair pathway as a critical mechanism of resistance.

Photoionization Suppression by Continuum Coherence: Experiment and Theory [PDF]
We present experimental and theoretical results of a detailed study of laser-induced continuum structures (LICS) in the photoionization continuum of helium out of the metastable state 2s $^1S_0$.

Following high dose rate brachytherapy (HDR‐BT) for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), patients were classified as responders and nonresponders. Post‐therapy serum induced increased BrdU incorporation and Cyclin E expression of Huh7 and HepG2 cells in nonresponders, but decreased levels in responders.

Two-color interference stabilization of atoms
The effect of interference stabilization is shown to exist in a system of two atomic levels coupled by a strong two-color laser field, the two frequencies of which are close to a two-photon Raman-type resonance between the chosen levels, with open ...

Nevirapine versus Efavirenz for patients co-infected with HIV and Tuberculosis: A Randomised Non-Inferiority Trial [PDF]
BACKGROUND: In countries with a high incidence of HIV and tuberculosis co-infection, nevirapine and efavirenz are widely used as antiretroviral therapy but both interact with antituberculosis drugs. We aimed to compare efficacy and safety of a nevirapine-

Adaptaquin selectively kills glioma stem cells while sparing differentiated brain cells. Transcriptomic and proteomic analyses show Adaptaquin disrupts iron and cholesterol homeostasis, with iron chelation amplifying cytotoxicity via cholesterol depletion, mitochondrial dysfunction, and elevated reactive oxygen species.

Pauli Blocking of Collisions in a Quantum Degenerate Atomic Fermi Gas
We have produced an interacting quantum degenerate Fermi gas of atoms composed of two spin-states of magnetically trapped $^{40}$K. The relative Fermi energies are adjusted by controlling the population in each spin-state.

Continuous and Pulsed Quantum Zeno Effect [PDF]
Continuous and pulsed quantum Zeno effects were observed using a $^{87}$Rb Bose-Einstein condensate(BEC). Oscillations between two ground hyperfine states of a magnetically trapped condensate, externally driven at a transition rate $\omega_R$, were ...
