Development of Bait Stations for Fruit Fly Population Suppression
Journal of Economic Entomology, 2007The application of insecticides is an essential component for eradication or management of fruit fly pests. Impact on nontarget organisms and public rejection of areawide pesticide applications have been major concerns in managing these programs. Bait stations have been proposed as alternative treatments in areas where broadcast insecticides are not ...

Habitat Management to Suppress Pest Populations: Progress and Prospects
Annual Review of Entomology, 2017Habitat management involving manipulation of farmland vegetation can exert direct suppressive effects on pests and promote natural enemies. Advances in theory and practical techniques have allowed habitat management to become an important subdiscipline of pest management.

Suppression of nematode populations with animal by-products
Bioresource Technology, 1995Abstract The incorporation of blood, fish and meat wastes into the soil was effective in reducing the populations of plant-parasitic nematodes and improved pigeon pea ( Cajunus cajan L.) plant growth. Lower dosages (1 and 5% (w/w)) gave the best responses and the highest dose (10% (w/w)) showed phytotoxic effects.

Some Basic Principles in Insect Population Suppression
Bulletin of the Entomological Society of America, 1966I deeply appreciate being selected as the recipient of the Founder's Memorial Award this year. It is an honor to deliver a lecture in recognition of James Fletcher, one of the great pioneers in entomology in the Americas. The topic I have chosen involves some complex calculations.

Population Characteristics and the Suppression of Nonnative Burbot
North American Journal of Fisheries Management, 2016Abstract Burbot Lota lota were illegally introduced into the Green River, Wyoming, drainage and have since proliferated throughout the system. Burbot in the Green River pose a threat to native species and to socially, economically, and ecologically important recreational fisheries. Therefore, managers of the Green River are interested in

Mutant IDH Modulates Suppressive Myeloid Populations in Malignant Glioma
Clinical Cancer ResearchAbstract Purpose: Mutations in the isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH) genes IDH1 and IDH2 have critical diagnostic and prognostic significance in diffuse gliomas. Neomorphic mutant IDH activity has been previously implicated in T-cell suppression; however, the effects of IDH mutations on ...
