The reproductive cycle of Petrolisthes japonicus (de Haan) was studied in Fukuoka during 1966-67. 1) The ovigerous females were found in the crab population from the end of May to the beginning of November. The reproductive season was approximately five months. 2) The females of the species produced three broods per year and the egg deposition occurred

New records of Porcellanidae (Decapoda, Anomura) from Taiwan

Two porcellanid crabs, Petrolisthes decacanthus Ortmann, 1897 and Neopetrolisthes spinatus Osawa & Fujita, 2001, are recorded from Taiwan for the first time. P. decacanthus has a wide but scattered distribution in the Indo-West Pacific, mainly on oceanic islands. Morphological variations of this species are noted. Comparison of specimens of N. spinatus
