Porcellanidae (Crustacea: Decapoda: Anomura) from New Caledonia and  the Loyalty Islands

open access: yesZootaxa, 2007
Thirty-one species of the family Porcellanidae are reported on the basis of rich material recently collected from New Caledonia and the Loyalty Islands. They include two species of Aliaporcellana Nakasone & Miyake, 1971, one of Capilliporcellana Haig, 1978, two of Enosteoides Johnson, 1970, one of Heteropolyonyx Osawa, 2001, four of Lissoporcellana

First discovery of porcellanid crab, Porcellanella picta (Crustacea: Decapoda: Porcellanidae), from south-east coast of India

open access: yesJournal of Asia-Pacific Biodiversity, 2014
Studies of the distribution of any marine organism are very important in determining the range of its expansion in the oceans and to determine the factors influencing this expansion.

Three new records of Porcellanidae (Decapoda, Anomura) to Eastern Cuba

open access: yesRevista de Investigaciones Marinas, 2022
The diversity of marine crabs (Anomura and Brachyura) of Cuba is well known. However, the poorly-known species distribution represents a challenge for conservation. The Cu- ban porcellanid crabs have been recently checked, however, the knowledge of this

Primer registro de intersexualidad en Porcellana platycheles (Pennant, 1777) (Decapoda: Anomura: Porcellanidae)

open access: yesLatin American Journal of Aquatic Research, 2013
Se registra por primera vez para la familia Porcellanidae la ocurrencia de la condición de intersexo en ejemplares de Porcellana platycheles. Los individuos intersexo fueron identificados por la presencia simultánea de aberturas genitales en las coxas de

Intersexuality in the porcellanid crab Pisidia longicornis (Crustacea: Decapoda: Anomura: Porcellanidae) [PDF]

open access: yesZoologia (Curitiba), 2015
Intersex specimens of Pisidia longicornis (Linnaeus, 1767) are recorded for the first time and their secondary sexual characters are analyzed. Of 145 specimens of P. longicornis examined in this study, six were identified as intersex individuals.

Long‐term coastal macrobenthic Community Trajectory Analysis reveals habitat‐dependent stability patterns

open access: yesEcography, Volume 2023, Issue 6, June 2023., 2023
Long‐term monitoring programs are fundamental to detect changes in ecosystem health and understand ecological processes. In the current context of increasing anthropogenic threats on marine ecosystems, understanding the dynamics and response of communities becomes essential.

Predicting diversity in benthic macro‐scale communities associated with mussel matrices in three Pacific ecoregions

open access: yesMarine Ecology, Volume 44, Issue 2, April 2023., 2023
Abstract Marine mussels are ubiquitous and their tough byssal threads allow for the formation of expansive, age‐aggregated mats known as mussel matrices which can host marine invertebrates and algal macro‐benthic communities playing an important role in food‐web dynamics.

A Feeding‐Ecology‐Based Approach to Evaluating Nursery Potential of Estuaries for Black Rockfish

open access: yesMarine and Coastal Fisheries, Volume 12, Issue 2, Page 124-141, April 2020., 2020
Abstract Previous work suggests that Oregon estuaries function as nursery habitat and may play an important role in settlement of Black Rockfish Sebastes melanops. No research, however, has been conducted on juvenile Black Rockfish feeding ecology in estuarine habitats, which is necessary to evaluate habitat use and quality.

Kelp Forest Zooplankton, Forage Fishes, and Juvenile Salmonids of the Northeast Pacific Nearshore

open access: yesMarine and Coastal Fisheries, Volume 12, Issue 1, Page 4-20, February 2020., 2020
Abstract Kelp forests are an important ecological component of temperate coastal systems that are sensitive to anthropogenic disturbance and are in decline in many locations globally. In the northeastern Pacific Ocean off the coast of Washington, USA, bull kelp Nereocystis luetkeana forests are seasonally used by juvenile salmonids and forage fishes ...
