Endothelium capture-based liver segment imaging using vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 in preclinical ex vivo models. [PDF]

open access: yesBJS Open, 2020
Imaging of liver segments provides substantial information for surgeons when performing liver resection. The anti‐vascular endothelial growth factor receptor (VEGFR) 2 antibody ramucirumab conjugated with near‐infrared dye could visualize selected liver segments using an endothelial capture‐based approach in an isolated perfusion liver model.

Genetic characterization of porcine circovirus type 2 from pigs with porcine circovirus associated diseases in Argentina. [PDF]

open access: yesISRN Vet Sci, 2011
Porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV‐2) has been associated with syndromes grouped by the term porcine circovirus associated diseases (PCVAD). The PCV‐2 isolates have been grouped into two major groups or genotypes according to their nucleotide sequence of whole genomes and/or ORF‐2: PCV‐2b, which have, in turn, been subdivided into three clusters (1A–1C ...

SANISAND‐C*: Simple ANIsotropic constitutive model for SAND with Cementation

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical and Analytical Methods in Geomechanics, Volume 47, Issue 15, Page 2815-2847, 25 October 2023., 2023
Abstract Cemented sands exhibit superior mechanical properties compared to clean sands. Based on this evidence, ground improvement methods are increasingly employed to induce cementing reactions that can bind the solid particles of sands and other soils for the ultimate enhancement of their properties and behavior. Despite increasing ground improvement

A proposal for the assessment of replication of effects in single‐case experimental designs

open access: yesJournal of Applied Behavior Analysis, Volume 55, Issue 3, Page 997-1024, Summer 2022., 2022
In science in general and in the context of single‐case experimental designs, replication of the effects of the intervention within and/or across participants or experiments is crucial for establishing causality and for assessing the generality of the intervention effect.

Review on alternative meals for gilthead seabream, Sparus aurata

open access: yesAquaculture Research, Volume 53, Issue 6, Page 2109-2145, April 2022., 2022
Abstract Different raw materials are routinely used in aquaculture feeds to satisfy the dietary nutrients required by aquaculture species. There are several components that should be taken into account in the evaluation of a particular ingredient in feed formulation, such as digestibility, palatability and nutrient utilization and interference. The aim

Ontogenetic shift and feeding habits of the European hake (Merluccius merluccius L., 1758) in Central and Southern Tyrrhenian Sea (Western Mediterranean Sea): A comparison between past and present data

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 12, Issue 3, March 2022., 2022
This study investigates the feeding habits of European hake in the southern Tyrrhenian Sea. It is a clear example of inverse energy flow between mesopelagic and epipelagic biocenosis. The high occurrence of Euphausiids, Myctophids, and Sternoptychids found in gut contents of juvenile hake showed the importance of energy and organic matter from deeper ...
