Iako je postotak žena koje planiraju porod kod kuće u razvijenim zemljama poprilično nizak, tijekom posljednjeg desetljeća taj se broj u svijetu znatno povećao. O opciji poroda kod kuće, Republika Hrvatska nema jasno koncipirana pravila te ujedno kao država ne potiče taj odabir.

Gynaecologia et perinatologia. Supplement (Zagreb), 2003Retrospektivnom analizom poroda koji su vođeni uz epiduralnu analgeziju utvrdili smo značajno veću učestalost operacijski dovršenih poroda vakuum ekstrakcijom (7, 6%).

Porod predstavlja završetak trudnoće. Normalna trudnoća traje od 37. do 42. tjedna. Porod prije 37.tjedna zove se prijevremeni porod, a nakon 42.tjedna porod je iz prenošene trudnoće. Normalan porod je svaki onaj porod koji je spontan u početku, nisko rizičan u početku trudova i kroz cijelo njihovo trajanje sve do poroda djeteta.

The topic of my bachelor thesis is pain and confinement. The reason why I selected the topic is that it holds my interest. The theoretical part contains general information explaining what pain is and stating what kinds of pain there are. I aimed to describe in detail in particular parturition that is closely associated with confinement.

The childbirth in the medical discourse is still viewed as a proces of high risk. The birth at home is then in such a discourse considered to be hazardous practice which can threaten the life of the unborn child. This paper tries to contribute to the discussions about the freedom of choice of the place of birth.
