When realized as inserts in high‐pressure die casting, aluminum cooling channels for electric powertrain components and similar applications typically require a stabilizing filler to survive the process. The present study investigates relinquishing this filler using additively manufactured inserts promising performance improvements.

This study designs Ta–Mo–Cr–Ti–Al refractory high‐entropy alloys with a disordered body‐centered‐cubic A2 crystal structure aiming for improved ductility, lower density, and oxidation resistance. Four alloy compositions are identified by thermodynamic calculations.

Powder Metallurgy Preparation of Metastable β Ti–Cr–Ge Alloys for Medical Applications
This study develops metastable β Ti–Cr–Ge alloys using powder metallurgy for biomedical implants. The Ti–10Cr–2Ge alloy exhibits superior mechanical performance with high yield strength (>1100 MPa), low Young's modulus (<85 GPa), and excellent strain hardening behavior.

Metal-organic framework glasses with permanent accessible porosity
To date, only several microporous, and even fewer nanoporous, glasses have been produced, always via post synthesis acid treatment of phase separated dense materials, e.g. Vycor glass.

Porosity and hypercyclic operators [PDF]
We study if the set of hypercyclic vectors of a hypercyclic operator is the complement of a σ \sigma -porous set. This leads to interesting results for both points of view: a limitation of the size of hypercyclic vectors, and new examples of first category sets which are not σ \sigma -porous.

In this paper, a new predictive model based on Gaussian process regression (GPR) that does not require iterative tuning of user-defined model parameters has been proposed to determine reservoir porosity and permeability.

High‐performance nickel‐based superalloys are often not processible in additive manufacturing (AM) due to hot cracking. The findings in this manuscript propose an efficient method to mitigate cracking and enhance mechanical properties of these alloys by producing a metal matrix composite, contributing to the material and process perspective of the AM ...
