Design Construction and Performance of Porous and Rubbrised Asphalt Pavement

open access: yesInternational Journal of Innovative Research in Computer Science and Technology, 2023
Moreover, porous asphalts have volumetric and surface characteristics (e.g., acoustic absorption, drain ability, texture, and friction). These characteristics are influenced by both intrinsic (such as gradation and bitumen content) and extrinsic (such as traffic load) variables, and the complex phenomena and processes that give rise to them determine ...

Field‐Validated Predictive Model for Strain Modulus of Dispersive Clay Stabilized With a Waste Calcium Composite for Sustainable Subgrade Design

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 7, July 2026.
A field‐validated predictive model accurately estimates the strain modulus of waste calcium composite‐stabilized dispersive clay. The model provides a reliable, sustainable, and cost‐effective tool for subgrade design, reducing dependence on extensive field testing while improving pavement performance.

Anti‐Slip Material‐Based Strategies and Approaches

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, Volume 11, Issue 10, 22 May 2026.
This review highlights the principle mechanisms of slipping at the microscale, linking contact mechanics with a friction behavior model for surface interfaces. Main strategies to develop anti‐slip properties to the surfaces are discussed alongside standardized testing approaches.

The environmental impact evaluation on the application of permeable pavement based on life cycle analysis

open access: yesInternational Journal of Transportation Science and Technology, 2019
Conventional pavement, namely concrete and asphalt pavements, usually necessitate considerable energy inputs during construction. Due to increasing road coverage in cities and the impervious feature of conventional pavements, the heat island effect is ...

Piezoresistive Monitoring of Carbon Nanomaterial‐Reinforced Epoxy Composites Under Cyclic and Fatigue Loading: A Review

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 28, Issue 8, 22 April 2026.
Carbon nanomaterial‐reinforced epoxy composites exhibit pronounced piezoresistive behavior, enabling intrinsic damage sensing under cyclic and fatigue loading. This review critically compares carbon nanotube and graphene systems, correlating filler content, percolation threshold, and gauge factor with sensing stability and damage evolution.

A STUDY OF AGGREGATE FRETTING RESISTANCE OF POROUS ASPHALT PAVEMENTS

open access: yesJOURNAL OF PAVEMENT ENGINEERING, JSCE, 2002
Causes of aggregate fretting of porous asphalt pavements are classified in two categories. The first category is due to the application of impact load on the brittle condition of binder at low temperature. The second category is due to the application of torsion and/or horizontal shear load on the low consistency of binder at high temperature.

Review: Insight on Porous Carbon Positive Electrode for Sodium‐Ion Capacitors: Interplay Between Synthesis, Properties, and Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 24, 27 April 2026.
Sodium ion capacitor (SIC) is currently constrained by the low discharge capacity of commercial activated carbon as positive electrode material. This review provides a holistic summary of research efforts on alternative porous carbon materials for SIC. Image created by the authors with www.biorender.com.

Beyond Imperfect Match: Silicon/Graphite Hybrid Anodes for High‐Energy–Density Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, Volume 16, Issue 10, 11 March 2026.
Silicon/graphite (Si/Gr) hybrid anodes are limited by Si's large volume change and mismatch with Gr. This review offers mechanistic insights into imperfectly matched Si/Gr hybrid anodes, elucidating heterogeneous lithiation behavior and interfacial failure pathways, and thereby informing the design of durable, high‐energy–density lithium‐ion batteries.
