Porous alumina-based ceramic

Glass and Ceramics, 2000
The possibility of producing strong porous ceramics based on aluminum oxide is shown. SiC with an activating additive and ammonium bicarbonate are used as a binder and a pore agent, respectively. The effect of the amount of the additives thus introduced and firing temperature on the porosity and strength of the material is studied.

Preparation of calcium hexaluminate porous ceramics by novel pectin based gelcasting freeze-drying method

, 2020
High-purity calcium hexaluminate (CA6) porous ceramics have been prepared with novel pectin based gelcasting freeze-drying method. CaCO3 and Al2O3 were used as raw materials and ficus pumila pectin was used as gelling agent.

Porous piezoelectric ceramic hydrophone

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1999
The construction and evaluation of a hydrophone based on porous piezoelectric ceramics with high dhgh figure of merit (FOM) is described. It has been shown that, in order to improve the hydrophone signal-to-noise ratio, a piezoelectric material with a high FOM should be employed. A porous piezoelectric material has been prepared by mixing calcined lead

Porous Piezoelectric Ceramic Transducer

Japanese Journal of Applied Physics, 1991
Porous piezoelectric ceramics of Pb(Zr, Ti)O3, (P-PZT), have been newly developed to apply to transducers in an echo sounder. The P-PZT was prepared from a mixture of PZT and poly-methyl-methacrylate (PMMA) powders. The piezoelectric characteristics of the P-PZT such as the dielectric constant (ε), voltage output constant (g constant), acoustic ...

Microscopy of porous ceramics

Proceedings, annual meeting, Electron Microscopy Society of America, 1989
Highly porous ceramics are employed in a variety of engineering applications due to their unique mechanical, optical, and electrical characteristics. In order to achieve proper design and function, information about the pore structure must be obtained.
