Ciprofloxacin attachment to porous‐coated titanium surfaces
Journal of Applied Biomaterials, 1994AbstractA simple and effective method for attaching ciprofloxacin HCl salt to the surface of porouscoated titanium based orthopedic materials was developed. The method utilizes the electrophoretic migration of both fine ciprofloxacin HCl particles and ciprofloxacin ions to deposit the antibiotic salt on a positively biased surface.

Characterizations of additive manufactured porous titanium implants
Journal of Biomedical Materials Research Part B: Applied Biomaterials, 2012AbstractThis article describes physical, chemical, and mechanical characterizations of porous titanium implants made by an additive manufacturing method to gain insight into the correlation of process parameters and final physical properties of implants used in orthopedics. For the manufacturing chain, the powder metallurgy technology was combined with

Compaction of powders by equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) using a novel space holder method was employed to fabricate metallic scaffolds with tuneable porosity. Porous Ti and Ti/Mg composites with 60% and 50% percolating porosity were fabricated using powder blends with two kinds of sacrificial space holders. The high compressive strength and good

A porous open-framework titanium oxophenylphosphate
Journal of Solid State Chemistry, 2008Abstract Highly porous titanium oxophenylphosphate (TPP-1) has been synthesized hydrothermally at 448 K using phenylphosphonic acid (PPA) as the organophosphorus source without the aid of any template or structure-directing agent (SDA). Powder XRD, TEM, SEM-EDS, N 2 sorption, ICP-AES chemical analysis, 13 C and 31 P MAS NMR, UV–Vis, XPS ...

Synthesis of porous titanium dioxide membranes
Desalination, 2007Abstract Until recently, the industrial membranes used for filtration, distillation, separation or extraction were manufactured from polymers. However, inorganic membranes are emerging as an alternative to polymeric membranes for applications due to their thermal, mechanical and chemical characteristics.

Heat transfer performance of porous titanium
Journal of Iron and Steel Research International, 2017Porous titanium fibre materials with different structural parameters were prepared by vacuum sintering method. The thickness, porosity and wire diameter of prepared materials were investigated to understand the effects of structural parameters on pool heat transmission performance of titanium fibre porous material.

Understanding compressive deformation in porous titanium
Philosophical Magazine, 2010The aim of this study was to understand and compare the compression deformation behavior of porous metals with random and designed porosity. Direct observation, analysis and quantification of porosity parameters using microcomputed tomography (µCT) enabled the determination of relationship between porosity characteristics and compressive deformation of

Osteointegrated porous-coated titanium implants.
La Chirurgia degli organi di movimento, 1995The study deals with the bone-prosthesis interface using an in vivo experimental animal model in relation to loading and walking on the prosthetized hip, studied by force plate analysis. The interface is studied from a histological and morphometric point of view by means of a LECO 2001 system.
