Multipoint Coordinative Capture of Olefinic Substrates Utilizing Metal‐Carbon Bonds by Macrocyclic Complex

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, Accepted Article.
Terpenoids and unsaturated fatty acids containing C=C double bonds are biologically and synthetically important compounds. The transformation of these substrates catalyzed by proteins relies on precise molecular capture. However, achieving precise molecular recognition of C=C double bonds using synthetically designed hosts remains a significant ...

Non‐Innocent Ligands as Mediators for Visible‐Light‐Initiated Element–Carbon Bond Homolysis in Main Group Chemistry

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
This minireview discusses the facilitation of E─C bond homolysis of main group compounds with visible light by the coordination of redox non‐innocent ligands. Important conceptual coherencies, potential applications, and future challenges are highlighted with respect to selected literature reports.

Low Molecular Weight Multistate Photoswitches Based on Simple Norbornadiene‐Triazine Scaffolds

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
Our new polyswitchable norbornadiene‐triazine hybrids are promising candidates for molecular based data storage. These small, low‐molecular‐weight molecules can be both symmetric or contain different NBD chromophors and exhibit an unprecedently high variety of distinct switching states.

Porous Organic Cages as Building Blocks for Framework Materials

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, Accepted Article.
Confined nanospaces play a fundamental role in nature, inspiring synthetic analogues that emulate biological precision and efficiency. Among these, porous crystalline materials such as covalent organic frameworks (COFs), metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs), and molecular cage compounds have emerged as powerful platforms for catalysis, separation, and ...
