Next Generation Hosts for Protein Recognition, Assembly and More

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
The original design of synthetic receptors for proteins was based on macrocycles with a hydrophobic core and a polar/charged periphery. This design, geared towards protein recognition, facilitates receptor self‐assembly. Macrocycle oligomerization, in turn, contributes to protein assembly as evidenced in many cocrystal structures.

Cyclodextrin‐Enhanced Photocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution Based on Formate Decomposition With Bio/Metal Catalysts

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Hydrogen evolution from formate with a hybrid system of enzyme, donor‐acceptor linked photocatalyst‐cyclodextrin complex (Mes‐Acr+‐CD) and platinum nanoparticle is reported. The use of CD as a dispersant for Mes‐Acr+ is a perfect strategy to enhance photocatalytic activity in aqueous solution without deactivation of the enzyme.

Porous Organic Frameworks‐Based Nanomaterials in Colorectal Cancer Therapy: From Drug Delivery to Personalized Nano‐Vaccine

open access: yesCancer Nexus, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Colorectal cancer (CRC), as the second most common cause of cancer death worldwide, has seen a significant increase in its incidence rate in recent years. However, the current major clinical treatment methods, such as surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy, still have certain limitations and are difficult to achieve a complete cure.

Electrochemical Water Oxidation Mechanisms Involving Macrocyclic Copper(II) Complexes: Ligand Ring Size Effects on Catalytic Cycles

open access: yesChemPhysChem, EarlyView.
The ring size of the ligand strongly influences electronic properties, steric effects, and coordination modes of key intermediates. Both catalysts show similar energy barriers for OO bond formation, but [Cu(12‐TMC)]2+ exhibits more complex mechanisms due to ligand reorganization.

Metalloporphyrin‐Based Cathode for Rechargeable Magnesium‐Ion Batteries: Copper Leaching and Interphase Formation

open access: yesChemSusChem, EarlyView.
The initial cycling of [5,15‐bis(ethynyl)‐10,20‐diphenylporphinato]copper(II) electrodes in rechargeable Mg‐ion batteries is studied using electrochemical, spectroscopic, microscopic, and spectrometric methods such as total reflection X‐ray fluorescence spectrometry and time‐of‐flight secondary ion mass spectrometry .
