Oxygen fugacity and porphyry mineralization: A zircon perspective of Dexing porphyry Cu deposit, China

Geochimica Et Cosmochimica Acta, 2017
Abstract Oxygen fugacity (fO2) is a key factor that controls the formation of porphyry Cu deposits. Porphyry Cu deposits are typically oxidized, but when and how porphyry magmas gain their high oxygen fugacity signatures, and how oxygen fugacity controls porphyry mineralization, remains obscure.

Fluid inclusions technique for porphyry deposit exploration: The Rosario porphyry Cu-Mo deposit

2023
Porphyry ore deposits are the largest source of copper, molybdenum, gold, and silver in the world. Various exploration techniques have been developed due to their importance as a source of metals. A special focus has been devoted to understanding the processes of hydrothermal fluids as mineralization drivers. Fluid inclusions provide direct information

Porphyry CU deposits in the Central Andes of Argentina: An overview

Journal of South American Earth Sciences, 2021
Abstract Porphyry Cu deposits are the world's most important source of Cu and the Central Andes of South America hold some of the largest Cu resources worldwide. In Argentina many porphyry-type deposits and prospects with different degrees of exploration straddle along ~1500 km of the Central Andes.

Porphyry type deposits associated with adakite magmas: Case study of porphyry Cu-Au and Cu-Mo deposits in mongolia

Ifost, 2013
Major porphyry type deposits are spatially and temporally associated with adakitic magmas. Such magmas show high Sr/Y, high Al2O3, and high La/Yb geochemical signature. Case study of late Devonian Oyu Tolgoi and Carboniferous Shuteen deposits show that porphyry Cu-Au are associated with oxidized, high Sr/Y mafic-inermediate adakitic magma.

Role of Potassic Alteration for Porphyry Cu Mineralization: Implication for the Absence of Porphyry Cu Deposits in Japan

Resource Geology, 2018
AbstractThe role of potassic alteration and associated quartz veins for porphyry Cu mineralization in two representative porphyry systems (El Salvador, Chile, and Grasberg, Indonesia) was examined to evaluate the potential of porphyry Cu mineralization in Japan.

The Origin of Cu/Au Ratios in Porphyry-Type Ore Deposits

Science, 2002
Microanalysis of major and trace elements in sulfide and silicate melt inclusions by laser-ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry indicates a direct link between a magmatic sulfide liquid and the composition of porphyry-type ore deposits.

Porphyry-Cu Deposits of Turkey

2019
Turkey, located within the western Tethyan-Eurasian Belt contains numerous porphyry copper deposits formed by the subduction, collision and post-collisional events during the closure of NeoTethys Ocean between the latest Cretaceous and late Miocene. These porphyry systems and associated epithermal and skarn deposits are associated with the subduction ...
