Exergetic Port-Hamiltonian systems modeling language

open access: yesHeliyon
Mathematical modeling of real-world physical systems requires the consistent combination of a multitude of physical laws and phenomenological models. This challenging task can be greatly simplified by hierarchically decomposing systems into ultimately ...

On the port-Hamiltonian representation of systems described by partial differential equations

open access: yes, 2012
We consider infinite dimensional port-Hamiltonian systems. Based on a power balance relation we introduce the port-Hamiltonian system representation where we pay attention to two different scenarios, namely the non-differential operator case and the ...

An Energy-Balancing Perspective of Interconnection and Damping Assignment Control of Nonlinear Systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Stabilization of nonlinear feedback passive systems is achieved assigning a storage function with a minimum at the desired equilibrium. For physical systems a natural candidate storage function is the difference between the stored and the supplied ...

Port-Hamiltonian Systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
As described in the previous Chaps. 3 and 4, (cyclo-)passive systems are defined by the existence of a storage function (nonnegative in case of passivity) satisfying the dissipation inequality with respect to the supply rate s(u, y) = uTy. In contrast, port-Hamiltonian systems, the topic of the current chapter are endowed with the property of (cyclo ...

Modelling car-following dynamics with stochastic input-state-output port-Hamiltonian systems [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences
In this contribution, we introduce a general class of car-following models with an input-state-output port-Hamiltonian structure. We derive stability conditions and long-term behavior of the finite system with periodic boundaries and quadratic ...

Exceptional Antimodes in Multi‐Drive Cavity Magnonics

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Driven‐dissipative cavity‐magnonics provides a flexible platform for engineering non‐Hermitian physics such as exceptional points. Here, using a four‐port, three‐mode system with controllable microwave interference, antimodes and coherent perfect extinction (CPE) are realized, enabling active tuning to antimode exceptional points.

Port-Controlled Hamiltonian Systems: Modelling Origins and Systemtheoretic Properties [PDF]

open access: yesIFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1992
It is shown that the network representation (as obtained through the generalized bond graph formalism) of non-resistive physical systems in interaction with their environment leads to a well- defined class of (nonlinear) control systems, called port-controlled Hamiltonian systems.A first basic feature of these systems is that their internal dynamics is

Evolution of Physical Intelligence Across Scales

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
By following the evolution of physical intelligence across scales, this article shows how intelligence arises from materials, structures, physical interactions, and collectives. It establishes physical intelligence as the evolutionary foundation upon which embodied intelligence is built.

Energy-stable port-Hamiltonian systems

open access: yesApplied Mathematics Letters
We combine energy-stable and port-Hamiltonian (pH) systems to obtain energy-stable port-Hamiltonian (espH) systems. The idea is to extend the known energy-stable systems with an input-output port, which results in a pH formulation. One advantage of the new espH formulation is that it naturally preserves its espH structure throughout discretization (in ...

Loop Quantum Photonic Chip for Coherent Multi‐Time‐Step Evolution

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
A loop quantum photonic chip (Loop‐QPC) enabling efficient multi‐step quantum simulation in a single run is demonstrated. Combining recirculating loops with cycle‐or‐measure control, Loop‐QPC eliminates repeated reprogramming and reduces loss. Experimental demonstration of three‐step unitary evolution confirms high‐fidelity operation, showcasing the ...
