CD11b+CD43hiLy6Clo splenocyte‐derived macrophages exacerbate liver fibrosis via spleen–liver axis
A population of splenic monocytes migrate into the liver and shift to macrophages, which account for the exacerbation of liver fibrosis. Abstract Background and Aims Monocyte‐derived macrophages (MoMFs), a dominant population of hepatic macrophages under inflammation, play a crucial role in liver fibrosis progression.

This study showed that the pancreaticogastrostomy technique in HPD of biliary tract cancer reduced the incidence of pancreatic fistula from 45% to 12%. In‐hospital mortality was also reduced from 27% to 3%. ABSTRACT Background and Purpose Although hepatopancreaticoduodenectomy (HPD) is effective for margin‐negative curative resection of biliary tract ...

A macroscopical investigation of the portal veins of the Van cat
In this study veins that constituted the portal vein were investigated in eight adult Van cats. The portal vein of the Van cat was composed of five peripheral branches which supplied the abdominal organs and two intrahepatic branches at the hepatic porta.

CD8+ T cell memory is sustained in mice by hepatic stellate cells
HSC role in memory CD8+ T cell maintenance. Abstract Background and Aims Long‐lasting immunological memory is the ultimate goal of vaccination. Homeostatic maintenance of memory CD8+ cytotoxic T cells (MemCD8TCs) is thought to be mediated by IL‐15/IL‐15R heterodimer (15HD)‐expressing myeloid cells.

Hepatic portal vein cannulation for infusion and blood sampling in freely moving rats [PDF]
Chronic portal vein cannulation in the rat is an important technique to study secretory rates of hormones from the endocrine pancreas. Moreover, it can be used for studying the effects of enteric hormones and pharmaca on behavioral and physiological ...

Lrat+ quiescent hepatic stellate cells (qHSC) give rise to Lrat+Fbln2+ activated HSC (aHSC) in alcohol‐associated hepatitis and this subpopulation is highly profibrotic, inflammatory, and immunoregulatory based on their single cell transcriptomic profile. Abstract Background and Aims Relative roles of HSCs and portal fibroblasts in alcoholic hepatitis (

Grafts used to construct lung cancer animal models come from various sources, primarily cell lines, patient‐derived tumor tissues, and circulating tumor cells. Based on the sources of grafts and research objectives, lung cancer animal models can be categorized into several types: chemical‐induced models, orthotopic transplantation models, heterotopic ...
