Characterizing Cutaneous α‐Synuclein Deposition and Seeding Activity in Parkinson's Disease Subtypes

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Cutaneous phosphorylated α‐synuclein (p‐syn) and α‐synuclein seeding activity are promising biomarkers for Parkinson's disease (PD), but their clinical value remains uncertain due to disease heterogeneity. This study evaluates these two biomarkers in PD patients to inform phenotype‐specific diagnosis and disease severity assessment ...

An Automatic Portmanteau Test For Nonlinear Dependence

open access: yesSSRN Electronic Journal, 2022
A data-driven version of a portmanteau test for detecting nonlinear types of statistical dependence is considered. An attractive feature of the proposed test is that it properly controls the type I error without being sensitive with respect to the number of autocorrelations used.

Low‐Temperature Imidization of Polyimides (PI) for Scalable Manufacturing of Flexible Wearable Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Low‐temperature imidization of PEG‐modified polyimide enables fully screen‐printed, roll‐to‐roll fabrication of flexible electrodes on PET substrates, delivering robust mechanical durability and reliable ECG/EMG signal performance for wearable electronics.

Creating Ti–Fe α/β Alloys by Diffusion‐Driven Solid‐State Processing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study proposes making alloys containing fast diffusing elements that are difficult to produce by ingot metallurgy, by diffusion‐driven solid‐state HIP processing of elemental powders and low‐temperature homogenisation. Here, novel Fe‐Ti α–β alloys are formed having fine α–β lamellae, a small β prior grain size without significant intermetallics ...

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Investigation of Relationship Between Hydrologic Processes of Precipitation, Evaporation and Stream Flow Using Linear Time Series Models (Case study: Western Basins of Lake Urmia)

open access: yesمجله آب و خاک, 2016
Introduction: Studying the hydrological cycle, especially in large scales such as water catchments, is difficult and complicated despite the fact that the numbers of hydrological components are limited.

A PORTMANTEAU TEST FOR SERIALLY CORRELATED ERRORS IN FIXED EFFECTS MODELS [PDF]

open access: yesEconometric Theory, 2006
Summary: We propose a portmanteau test for serial correlation of the error term in a fixed effects model. The test is derived as a Lagrange multiplier test, but it also has a straightforward Wald test interpretation. In Monte Carlo experiments, the test displays good size and power properties.

Feasibility of Nitrogen as a Carrier Gas for Inconel Cold Spray in Hydropower Application

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
N2, despite being nearly two orders of magnitude cheaper than He, is a feasible carrier gas for cold spray Inconel coatings in hydropower repair applications when higher gas temperature and pressure are used. Reducing powder size significantly improved cavitation resistance, while the addition of fine chromium carbide particles further enhanced erosion

Portmanteau tests for linearity of stationary time series [PDF]

open access: yesEconometric Reviews, 2017
This paper considers the problem of testing for linearity of stationary time series. Portmanteau tests are discussed which are based on generalized correlations of residuals from a linear model (that is, autocorrelations and cross-correlations of different powers of the residuals).
