The subunit composition of Portunus trituberculatus hemocyanin polymers

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1988
The subunit composition of isolated polymeric forms of Portunus trituberculatus hemocyanin were analysed by immunological techniques. The dodecamers contain four monomeric subunits corresponding to subunits I, II, III and IV, whereas the hexamers are devoid of subunit IV.

Bioconversion of progesterone by the ovaries of crab, Portunus trituberculatus

General and Comparative Endocrinology, 1971
Abstract In vitro bioconversion of progesterone-4- 14 C by the sliced ovaries of the crab Portunus trituberculatus has been investigated. The ovaries of the crab converted progesterone to 17α-hydroxyprogesterone, testosterone, and deoxycorticosterone.

The subunit heterogeneity of Portunus trituberculatus haemocyanin

Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology Part B: Comparative Biochemistry, 1989
Abstract 1. 1. The subunit heterogeneity of the crab Portunus trituberculatus haemocyanin is investigated by electrophoretic and immunological techniques. 2. 2. Four monomeric subunits of Portunus trituberculatus haemocyanin are identified by continuous polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and by crossed immunoelectrophoresis. 3. 3. All

Isolation and characterization of microsatellites in Portunus trituberculatus

Conservation Genetics Resources, 2011
Thirty polymorphic microsatellite markers for swimming crab P. trituberculatus are developed from EST sequences, genomic libraries and cross-species amplification in P. pelagicus, respectively. They are characterized using 24 P. trituberculatus individuals from Yingkou natural population.

Characterization of PHB in the gonadal development of the swimming crab Portunus trituberculatus

Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology Part B: Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, 2020
Prohibitin (PHB) is an evolutionarily conserved multifunctional protein with ubiquitous expression. In this study, we cloned the PHB gene from the testis of the swimming crab Portunus trituberculatus (PtPHB) and analyzed the deduced amino acid sequence. The expression level of phb mRNA in larvae was analyzed using qRT-PCR.

Tubulin mediates Portunus trituberculatus reovirus infection

Aquaculture, 2015
Abstract Reoviruses are widespread and infect a broad range of hosts. To date, no study has been reported on an aquatic reovirus receptor. By using viral overlay protein binding assay (VOPBA), swimming crab Portunus trituberculatus reovirus (SCRV) was found to bind to a protein of approximately 550 kDa.

Gut Microbiota and Metabolic Phenotype of Portunus Trituberculatus

Chinese Journal of Analytical Chemistry, 2016
16S rRNA gene high-throughput sequencing and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR)-based metabolomics techniques were established for the composition analysis of gut microbiota and metabolites of Portunus trituberculatus. Swimming crab gut samples were used for the extraction of bacterial genomic DNA, followed by amplification of hypervariable domain V3-V4 ...

Immune response and antioxidant status of Portunus trituberculatus inoculated with pathogens

Fish & Shellfish Immunology, 2017
The white spot syndrome virus (WSSV), Vibrio parahaemolyticus and V. alginolyticus are serious epidemic pathogen affecting the cultured Portunus trituberculatus and resulted in severe economic losses to local farmers. The immune and antioxidant systems are believed to be closely involved in host responses to pathogens in aerobic animals, including ...

A Study on Ecotoxicological Effects of Nano-copper Oxide Particles to Portunus trituberculatus

Current Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, 2021
Background: As an important nano-material, nano-copper oxide particles (CuO-ENPs) harbor a vast range of characteristics, including an electronic correlation effect, thermal stability, catalytic activity, sterilization, and other properties. At present, the mechanism of ecotoxicological effects of CuO-ENPs is unclear and has been inconclusive ...

Identification of sex-linked DNA markers by AFLP in Portunus trituberculatus

Gene, 2014
To investigate the mechanism of sex determination of crabs, amplified fragment-length polymorphism DNA analysis was applied to identify sex-specific markers for Portunus trituberculatus. Eleven pairs of primers were used to amplify DNA isolated from male and female crabs.
