A Hierarchical Children’s Dance Movement Pose Estimation Method Based on Sequence Multiscale Feature Fusion Representation

open access: yesAdvances in Multimedia, 2022
Aiming at the problem that traditional human motion pose estimation methods cannot accurately capture and estimate the movement changes of children dancers, a hierarchical dance pose estimation method for children based on sequence multiscale feature ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Performance Evaluation of Monocular Markerless Pose Estimation Systems for Industrial Exoskeletons

open access: yesSensors
Industrial exoskeletons (a.k.a. wearable robots) have been developed to reduce musculoskeletal fatigue and work injuries. Human joint kinematics and human–robot alignment are important measurements in understanding the effects of industrial exoskeletons.

Direct Dense Pose Estimation

open access: yes2021 International Conference on 3D Vision (3DV), 2021
Dense human pose estimation is the problem of learning dense correspondences between RGB images and the surfaces of human bodies, which finds various applications, such as human body reconstruction, human pose transfer, and human action recognition.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

An unexpected alternative viologen electron mediator site in tungsten‐containing formate dehydrogenase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

Human pose estimation with general contact

open access: yesComputational Visual Media
Existing human pose estimation methods seldom consider the impact or constraint of different types of contact. In this paper, we elaborate on the impact of both body-scene contact and self-contact on pose estimation and refer to them as general contact ...

Neuromorphic Event-Based 3D Pose Estimation

open access: yesFrontiers in Neuroscience, 2016
Pose estimation is a fundamental step in many artificial vision tasks. It consists of estimating the 3D pose of an object with respect to a camera from the object's 2D projection. Current state of the art implementations operate on images.

Fast Human Pose Estimation [PDF]

open access: yes2019 IEEE/CVF Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR), 2019
Existing human pose estimation approaches often only consider how to improve the model generalisation performance, but putting aside the significant efficiency problem. This leads to the development of heavy models with poor scalability and cost-effectiveness in practical use. In this work, we investigate the under-studied but practically critical pose
