Riemannian Geometry for the Classification of Brain States with Intracortical Brain Recordings
Geometric machine learning is applied to decode brain states from invasive intracortical neural recordings, extending Riemannian methods to the invasive regime where data is scarcer and less stationary. A Minimum Distance to Mean classifier on covariance manifolds uses geodesic distances to outperform convolutional neural networks while reducing ...

In this paper, we describe the concept of a new data-hiding technique for steganography in RGB images where a secret message is embedded in the blue layer of specific bytes.

A fast, preconditioned conjugate gradient Toeplitz solver [PDF]
A simple factorization is given of an arbitrary hermitian, positive definite matrix in which the factors are well-conditioned, hermitian, and positive definite.

Elastic Fast Marching Learning from Demonstration
This article presents Elastic Fast Marching Learning (EFML), a novel approach for learning from demonstration that combines velocity‐based planning with elastic optimization. EFML enables smooth, precise, and adaptable robot trajectories in both position and orientation spaces.

Positive-Definite Sparse Precision Matrix Estimation
The positive-definiteness and sparsity are the most important property of high-dimensional precision matrices. To better achieve those property, this paper uses a sparse lasso penalized D-trace loss under the positive-definiteness constraint to estimate high-dimensional precision matrices.

Planning and Control Framework for a Quadruped Robot With Changeable Configuration
Multiconfiguration quadruped robots enhance adaptability by switching between mammal‐like and reptile‐like morphologies. This study presents a nonlinear constraint‐based motion planner integrated with a hierarchical whole‐body controller, enabling robust configuration switching and locomotion on complex terrains. Experiments on slopes, irregular bricks,

Piecewise Certificates of Positivity for matrix polynomials
We show that any symmetric positive definite homogeneous matrix polynomial $M\in\R[x_1,...,x_n]^{m\times m}$ admits a piecewise semi-certificate, i.e. a collection of identites $M(x)=\sum_jf_{i,j}(x)U_{i,j}(x)^TU_{i,j}(x)$ where $U_{i,j}(x)$ is a matrix ...

A proof for the positive definiteness of the Jaccard index matrix
In this paper we provide a proof for the positive definiteness of the Jaccard index matrix used as a weighting matrix in the Euclidean distance between belief functions defined in Jousselme et al. [13]. The idea of this proof relies on the decomposition of the matrix into an infinite sum of positive semidefinite matrices.

‘Turkeys Cannot Vote for Christmas’: Why Epistemic Disobedience in an Anti‐Black World Matters
ABSTRACT Never in the history of global coloniality has the idea of epistemic disobedience been as important as in the 21st century. This is not only because the struggle for decolonisation has shifted from physical confrontation between the coloniser and the colonised into a battle of ideas but also because the former has deployed the idea of ...

Iterative Algorithm for Solving a System of Nonlinear Matrix Equations
We discuss the positive definite solutions for the system of nonlinear matrix equations and , where , are two positive integers. Some properties of solutions are studied, and the necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of positive ...
