pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

Affine PBW bases and affine MV polytopes
We show how affine PBW bases can be used to construct affine MV polytopes, and that the resulting objects agree with the affine MV polytopes recently constructed using either preprojective algebras or KLR algebras.

Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

Synthesis, characterization and antibacterial screening of some Schiff bases derived from pyrazole and 4-amino antipyrine [PDF]
Some Schiff bases of pyrazole and 4-amino antipyrine have been synthesized. The antibacterial screening of these synthesized compounds was done in dimethyl forma-mide against four Gram positive bacteria viz.

A note on extremal functions for sharp Sobolev inequalities
In this note we prove that any compact Riemannian manifold of dimension $ngeq 4$ which is non-conformal to the standard n-sphere and has positive Yamabe invariant admits infinitely many conformal metrics with nonconstant positive scalar curvature on

The human gut microbiome across the life course
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

Universal Expansions in Negative and Complex Bases
Expansions in noninteger positive bases have been intensively investigated since the pioneering works of Rényi (Acta Math. Hungar. 8: 477–493, 1957) and Parry (Acta Math. Hungar. 11: 401–416, 1960).
