Generalizations of the Kantorovich and Wielandt Inequalities with Applications to Statistics
By utilizing the properties of positive definite matrices, mathematical expectations, and positive linear functionals in matrix space, the Kantorovich inequality and Wielandt inequality for positive definite matrices and random variables are obtained ...

A Matrix Hyperbolic Cosine Algorithm and Applications
In this paper, we generalize Spencer's hyperbolic cosine algorithm to the matrix-valued setting. We apply the proposed algorithm to several problems by analyzing its computational efficiency under two special cases of matrices; one in which the matrices ...

A probabilistic framework based on random time‐space coding metasurfaces enables control of the spatial distribution of electromagnetic fields temporal statistics. By tailoring the marginal and joint distributions of random codes, electromagnetic fields with desired mean and variance patterns are realized, enabling simultaneous transmission and jamming.

In this work, a bioinspired all‐in‐one underwater quality evaluation metamaterial, combining sound attenuation, diffuse reflection, and mechanical robustness, is proposed based on jumping spider locomotion and human skeletal biomechanics. Meanwhile, a CNN‑driven quality evaluation framework is established for theoretically dimension‐reduced ...

Independence Characterization for Wishart and Kummer Random Matrices
We generalize the following univariate characterization of the Kummer and Gamma distributions to the cone of symmetric positive definite matrices: let X and Y be independent, non-degenerate random variables valued in (0,∞), then U = Y /(1 +X) and V = X ...

Trace functions as Laplace transforms
We study trace functions on the form $ t\to\tr f(A+tB) $ where $ f $ is a real function defined on the positive half-line, and $ A $ and $ B $ are matrices such that $ A $ is positive definite and $ B $ is positive semi-definite. If $ f $ is non-negative

Positive Definite Matrices and Catalan Numbers, Revisited [PDF]
In this note a combinatorial correspondence is used to prove that the number of positive definite, tridiagonal, integral matrices of determinant 1 whose sub and super diagonals consist solely of ones is C n = ( n 2 n
