Determinantal inequalities for positive definite matrices [PDF]
We consider the problem of identifying all determinantal inequalities valid on all positive definite matrices. This is fundamentally a combinatorial problem about relations between collections of index sets.

Seasonal Fluctuations of Plastochromanol‐8 and α‐Tocopherol Amounts in the Leaves of Cecropia Trees
ABSTRACT Plastochromanol‐8 (PC‐8) is a homologue of γ‐tocotrienol with a longer side chain (eight instead of three isoprene units) and therefore also a representative of the tocochromanol (vitamin E) group. PC‐8 has been determined in various plants and seeds, with Cecropia sp. leaves showing unusually high levels.

Lq averaging for symmetric positive-definite matrices [PDF]
We propose a method to find the Lq mean of a set of symmetric positive-definite (SPD) matrices, for 1≤q ≤2. Given a set of points, the Lq mean is defined as a point for which the sum of q-th power of distances to all the given points is minimum. The

Nasal soft‐tissue anatomy of Triceratops and other horned dinosaurs
Abstract Although ceratopsid dinosaurs possess a characteristically hypertrophied narial region, soft‐tissue anatomy associated with such a skeletal structure and their biological significance remain poorly understood. The present study provides the first comprehensive hypothesis on the soft‐tissue anatomy in the ceratopsid rostrum based on the Extant ...

Abstract The linear‐quadratic regulator (LQR) problem of optimal control of an uncertain discrete‐time linear system (DTLS) is revisited in this paper from the perspective of Tikhonov regularization. We show that an optimally chosen regularization parameter reduces, compared to the classical LQR, the values of a scalar error function, as well as the ...

Aim This study aimed to compare how Norwegian healthcare professionals (HCPs) and consumers reported the same adverse event (AE) following immunization with vaccines against COVID‐19 during the COVID‐19 pandemic. Specifically, we aimed to compare the extent to which HCPs and consumers reported information relevant for assessing the causal relationship ...

Model‐Enabled Knowledge Transfer Across Cell Lines, Culture Scales and Conditions
ABSTRACT Mechanistic models are central to quantitative understanding and optimization of Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cell culture processes, but their utility is often restricted by parameter sets calibrated for specific cell lines, scales, or operating conditions.

A Class of Positive Definite Completion Problem for Partial Positive Definite Toeplitz Matrices [PDF]
Abstract : Not every partial positive definite Toeplitz matrix has Toeplitz positive definite completion and not every par2 tial positive ...

ABSTRACT Environmental sustainability in supply chains is no longer considered a compliance concern. It has become a strategic capability challenge, as firms seek to use Generative artificial intelligence (Gen‐AI) to improve decision quality, resource efficiency and responsible operations.
