Lateral-Pressure Profiles in Cholesterol-DPPC Bilayers [PDF]
By means of atomistic molecular dynamics simulations, we study cholesterol-DPPC (dipalmitoyl phosphatidylcholine) bilayers of different composition, from pure DPPC bilayers to a 1:1 mixture of DPPC and cholesterol. The lateral-pressure profiles through the bilayers are computed and separated into contributions from the different components.

On the pressure gain of stable flow systems with variable cross-section area [PDF]
For the clarification of total pressure gain performance of rotating detonation propulsion systems, the extended Hugoniot curve is proposed and discussed for the stable flow systems with variable cross-section area (SFSVA). The dimensionless pressure integral ({\theta}) along the system walls is found to have critical impact on the pressure gain of the

This review aimed to synthesize factors associated with medication nonadherence among people with type 2 diabetes (PwT2D), using the Capability, Opportunity, Motivation and Behaviour (COM‐B) model as the a priori model. Studies published between January 2014 and April 2024 were searched on five databases.

Corn cob pyrolysis: A systematic literature review of methods and applications
Mapping the research landscape of corn cob pyrolysis. Abstractas The agricultural sector is experiencing a surge in waste generation due to population growth, creating an urgent need to convert byproducts into value‐added products. Maize (Zea mays L.), a leading global crop, produces significant byproducts, such as corn cob, which are often undervalued.

Invasive haemodynamic assessment in heart failure with preserved ejection fraction
Abstract Despite the increasing prevalence and substantial burden of heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF), which constitutes up to 50% of all heart failure cases, significant challenges persist in its diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.

Abstract Aims Wild‐type transthyretin cardiac amyloidosis (ATTRwt) is a cardiomyopathy causing myocardial hypoperfusion and impaired cardiac mitochondrial function. Trimetazidine is an antianginal agent used in patients with stable angina pectoris, which improves cardiac contractility and mitochondrial function.

Abstract Aims Patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction represent half of the heart failure patients nowadays, an at least steady trend due to the aging of the population. We investigated whether the parameters obtained from cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET) correlated with the prognosis of these patients.

Insulin‐like growth factor‐binding protein‐7 (IGFBP7) and heart failure (HF) risk: the PREVEND study. CI, confidence interval; HR, hazard ratio. Abstract Aim Senescence is a major risk factor for heart failure (HF), and insulin‐like growth factor‐binding protein‐7 (IGFBP7) has been identified as an important senescence‐inducing factor.
