On the modified beta approximating operators of second kind
We shall define a general linear operator from which we obtain as particular case the modified beta second kind operator\[(T_{p,q}f)(x)=\frac{1}{B(p,q)}\int_0^\infty\tfrac{u^{p-1}}{(1+u)^{p+q}}f\left(\frac{B(p,q)}{B(p+a,q-a)}u^ax\right){\rm d}u.\] We ...

Operator upper bounds for Davis-Choi-Jensen's difference in Hilbert spaces [PDF]
In this paper we obtain several operator inequalities providing upper bounds for the Davis-Choi-Jensen's Difference Ph (f (A)) - f (Ph (A)) for any convex function f : I → R, any selfadjoint operator A in H with the spectrum Sp (A) ⊂ I and any linear ...

EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

NKCC1: A key regulator of glioblastoma progression
Glioblastoma (GBM) progression is driven by disrupted chloride cotransporter homeostasis. NKCC1 is highly expressed in stem‐like, astrocytic, and progenitor cells, correlating with earlier recurrence, while overall survival remains unaffected. NKCC1 serves as a prognostic marker and potential therapeutic target, linking chloride transporter imbalance ...

Use of identity of A. Hurwitz for construction of a linear positive operator of approximation
By using a general algebraic identity of Adolf Hurwitz [1], which generalizes an important identity of Abel, we construct a new operator \(S_m^{(\beta_1,\ldots,\beta_m)}\) approximating the functions. A special case of this is the operator \(Q_m^\beta\)

Insights into a long life without cancer: The case of the bowhead whale
Long‐lived, large‐bodied organisms have evolved powerful anticancer mechanisms that preserve cellular and tissue integrity across extended lifespans. A recent study by Firsanov et al. shows that greater genome stability is a key factor underlying the remarkable longevity and cancer resistance of one such species, the bowhead whale.

Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...

Preserving properties of some Szasz-Mirakyan type operators
For a family of Szasz-Mirakyan type operators we prove that they preserve convex-type functions and that a monotonicity property verified by Cheney and Sharma in the case Szasz-Mirakyan operators holds for the variation study here.
