We quantified and cultured circulating tumor cells (CTCs) of 62 patients with various cancer types and generated CTC‐derived tumoroid models from two salivary gland cancer patients. Cellular liquid biopsy‐derived information enabled molecular genetic assessment of systemic disease heterogeneity and functional testing for therapy selection in both ...

A statistical reconstruction algorithm for positronium lifetime imaging using time-of-flight positron emission tomography [PDF]
Positron emission tomography (PET) is an important modality for diagnosing diseases such as cancer and Alzheimer's disease, capable of revealing the uptake of radiolabeled molecules that target specific pathological markers of the diseases. Recently, positronium lifetime imaging (PLI) that adds to traditional PET the ability to explore properties of ...

Plastic scintillators for positron emission tomography obtained by the bulk polymerization method [PDF]
This paper describes three methods regarding the production of plastic scintillators. One method appears to be suitable for the manufacturing of plastic scintillator, revealing properties which fulfill the requirements of novel positron emission tomography scanners based on plastic scintillators.

[18F]AV‐1451 tau positron emission tomography in progressive supranuclear palsy
The [18F]AV‐1451 positron emission tomography ligand allows the in vivo assessment of tau proteins in the brain. It shows strong binding in Alzheimer's dementia, but little is known about how it performs in progressive supranuclear palsy, a primary 4R ...

Breast tumor samples scored for metabolic deregulation (M1 to M3) were given a hypoxia score (HS). The highest HS occurred in patients with strongest metabolic deregulation (M3), supporting tumor aggressiveness. HS correlated with the highest number of metabolic pathways in M1. This suggests hypoxia to be an early event in metabolic deregulation.

Lymph node metastasis of squamous cell carcinoma from an unknown primary in the upper and middle neck: impact of 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography [PDF]
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to assess the potential of F-18-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography (FDG-PET/CT) imaging for detection of the primary tumor and its impact on treatment planning in patients presenting

Cardiac Positron Emission Tomography
Positron emission tomography (PET) is a powerful, quantitative imaging modality that has been used for decades to noninvasively investigate cardiovascular biology and physiology. Due to limited availability, methodologic complexity, and high costs, it has long been seen as a research tool and as a reference method for validation of other diagnostic ...
