Positron emission tomography (PET) for cholangiocarcinoma [PDF]
The combination of positron emission tomography (PET) with computed tomography (PET-CT) provides simultaneous metabolic and anatomic information on tumors in the same imaging session. Sensitivity of PET/PET-CT is higher for intrahepatic (>90%) than for extrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) (about 60%).

Lymph node metastasis of squamous cell carcinoma from an unknown primary in the upper and middle neck: impact of 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography [PDF]
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to assess the potential of F-18-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography (FDG-PET/CT) imaging for detection of the primary tumor and its impact on treatment planning in patients presenting

Positron Emission Tomography (PET) in Oncology [PDF]
Since its introduction in the early nineties as a promising functional imaging technique in the management of neoplastic disorders, FDG-PET, and subsequently FDG-PET/CT, has become a cornerstone in several oncologic procedures such as tumor staging and restaging, treatment efficacy assessment during or after treatment end and radiotherapy planning ...

A feasibility study of ortho-positronium decays measurement with the J-PET scanner based on plastic scintillators [PDF]
We present a study of the application of the Jagiellonian Positron Emission Tomograph (J-PET) for the registration of gamma quanta from decays of ortho-positronium (o-Ps).

Positron Emission Tomography: PET.
To allow non-invasive radiotracer studies in human, the emitted radiation must be detected outside the body. PET technique employs tracers labeled with short-lived positron emitting radionuclides that produce externally detectable two anti-parallel gamma photons by collision with an electron.

Determination of the map of efficiency of the J-PET detector with the GATE package
A novel PET detector consisting of strips of polymer scintillators is being developed by the J-PET Collaboration. The map of efficiency and the map of geometrical acceptance of the 2-strip J-PET scanner are presented.

Diagnosis of an unusual case of idiopathic mediastinal fibrosis by 18F-FDG PET/CT
Diagnosis of idiopathic mediastinal fibrosis was done by exclusion in a 54-year-old woman with dyspnoea, chest pain, cough and fatigue showing positivity of 2-deoxy-2-[18F]fluoro-D-glucose positron-emission tomography/computed tomography total body ...
