Stress Analysis of Post-Buckled Sandwich Panels

Volume 3: Structures, Safety, and Reliability, 2018
The paper presents a method to assess stresses in sandwich plates with periodic microstructure in the post-buckling region. The fundamental assumption is that the microstructure is linear elastic and von Karman non-linearity is present only at macro-, i.e. panel-scale.

Imperfection sensitivity of free vibration of symmetrically/anti-symmetrically laminated FRC beams in thermally pre-and post-buckling equilibrium states

, 2020
Linear/nonlinear free vibration of imperfect symmetrically/anti-symmetrically laminated fibre-reinforced composite (FRC) beams in the pre-and post-buckling equilibrium states are studied.

Post‐buckling Equilibrium of Hyperstatic Lattices

Journal of Engineering Mechanics, 1985
Post‐buckling equilibrium paths of complex, elastic, hyperstatic, pin‐jointed lattices composed of slender members are studied under the aspect of finite deformation using a new simplified theory, which is presented in matrix formulation. A general numerical procedure is developed on a digital computer for the solution of the reduced equilibrium ...

Post-Buckling of Redundant Rectangular Beams

Journal of the Engineering Mechanics Division, 1975
The post-buckling behavior of redundant single-span rectangular members is investigated using an equilibrium approach and large potential reserves of strength are shown to exist. In some cases, loads up to three times the initial buckling loads can be supported before the deformations and stresses exceed acceptable limits.

Investigation of nonlinear post-buckling delamination in curved laminated composite panels via cohesive zone model

, 2020
The delamination in curved composite laminates is one of the main defects, especially in aerospace structures. To optimize the design of the delaminated composite panels under compression loading, accurate characterization of the effects of different ...

Shear resistance and post-buckling behavior of corrugated panels in steel plate shear walls

Thin-walled structures, 2018
Steel corrugated shear wall (SCSW) is an alternative to traditional shear walls with flat plates. However, shear resistance behavior and design of the infilled corrugated panels in SCSWs has not been well studies.

Thermal post-buckling analysis of functionally graded material structures using a modified FSDT

International Journal of Mechanical Sciences, 2018
The thermal post-buckling responses of Functionally Graded Material shell structures are reported in this paper. Geometrically nonlinear analysis based on a modified First order Shear Deformation Theory are proposed.

Post-Buckling of Axially Compressed Plates

Journal of the Structural Division, 1972
Aluminum square tubular sections subjected to axial compression generally exhibit a significant reserve of strength above the critical stress levels associated with plate buckling. Load-transverse deflection curves averaged over the four faces of each of six specimens with different slenderness ratios B (width to thickness) validates the nature of ...

Thermal post-buckling of circular plates

Computers & Structures, 1984
The thermal post-buckling behaviour of isotropic circular plates has been studied in this paper by a simple finite element formulation. The accuracy of the solution by finite element method is established through a solution by the Rayleigh-Ritz method for simply-supported circular plates.
