RESEARCH ON POST-BUCKLING DESIGN OF HAT-STRINGER STIFFENED FUSELAGE PANELS

open access: yesJixie qiangdu
Composite stiffened panel structure is widely used in modern aircraft, which is prone to buckling under working conditions.A large number of tests show that the aircraft composite stiffened thin-wall structure has considerable post-buckling bearing ...

Study on compressive failure modes of TC2 stiffened panels with different welding processes

open access: yesJixie qiangdu
ObjectiveThe effects of different joining processes—riveting, spot welding, argon arc welding, and laser welding—on the compressive buckling behavior and failure modes of TC2 titanium alloy stiffened panels were investigated.MethodsIntegral stiffened ...

Post buckling of micromachined beams

Journal of Micromechanics and Microengineering, 1994
The static deformation of micromachined beams under prescribed in-plane compressive stress is studied by analytical and experimental means over the pre-buckling, transition, and post-buckling load ranges. The finite amplitude of the beam in its post-buckled state is predicted by modeling the non-linear dependence of its compressive stress on the out-of-

Post-Buckling of Piezoelectric Thin Plates

International Journal of Structural Stability and Dynamics, 2015
In the present paper, the geometrically nonlinear behavior of piezoelastic thin plates is studied. First, the governing equations for the electromechanically coupled problem are derived based on the von Karman–Tsien kinematic assumption. Here, the Berger approximation is extended to the coupled piezoelastic problem.

Buckling and Post-Buckling of a Pumpkin Balloon

51st AIAA/ASME/ASCE/AHS/ASC Structures, Structural Dynamics, and Materials Conference
18th AIAA/ASME/AHS Adaptive Structures Conference
12th, 2010
Pumpkin shaped balloon has been playing an important role in many space science explorations. This paper presents a computational study of buckling and post-buckling behavior of a 10 m diameter, 145 lobe pumpkin balloon, with lobes of approximately uniform radius. The ABAQUS commercial finite-element package is used.

PERTURBATION APPROACH TO ELASTIC POST-BUCKLING ANALYSIS

Computers & Structures, 1998
Summary: This paper shows that effective and reliable computer codes can be obtained by a suitable finite element implementation of the Koiter's perturbation method. However, careful attention has to be paid to all the implementation details in order to avoid kinematic inconsistencies that can strongly affect the results.

Post‐Buckling Behavior

Journal of Structural Engineering, 1983
A survey of post‐buckling behavior of structures is presented. Using simple models, the basic characteristics of the buckling and post‐buckling process are outlined. Included are discussions of stable and unstable post‐buckling behavior and of the role of imperfections in stability behavior.

The Post-Buckling Problem for Thin Elastic Shells

SIAM Journal on Applied Mathematics, 1971
An asymptotic integration technique is developed to describe the post-buckling behavior of thin elastic shells. The introduction of slow space and time scales directly into the shell differential equations permits a modeling of dynamic effects and a means of accounting for finite boundaries.
