A boundary element approach to buckling of laminated plates subjected to arbitrary in-plane loading [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Laminated plate buckling is analyzed by the boundary element method (BEM). Ignoring bending stretching coupling, a solution is first sought for the membrane stresses due to arbitrary in plane loading.

Self‐Assembled Inorganic Nanomembrane Tubes: Rolled‐Up Piezoelectrics for Microacoustic Wave‐Based Actuators and Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates a self‐assembly process to generate free‐standing piezoelectric nanomembranes, forming ultracompact microtubular acoustic wave sensors and actuators. The miniaturized 3D piezoelectric platform reported in this work can be applied in telecommunication, energy harvesting, and acoustofluidics. Moreover, the 3D self‐assembly can add

Study the Postbuckling of Hexagonal Piezoelectric Nanowires with Surface Effect [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Nanostructures, 2014
Piezoelectric nanobeams having circular, rectangular and hexagonal cross-sections are synthesized and used in various Nano structures; however, piezoelectric nanobeams with hexagonal cross-sections have not been studied in detail.

Programmable 3D Photovoltaics via Mechanically Origami‐Coded Interlocked 3D Kirigami and Nano‐Root Anchored AgNWs–In–Ga Multiphasic Alloy Conductor

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Mechanically origami‐coded 3D kirigami photovoltaics convert a single extension–release cycle into deterministic self‐folding, reconfiguring planar solar cells into programmable 3D modules. Distinct coding strategies enable either ultrahigh stretchability (500% system strain) or ultrahigh initial effective areal coverage (225%).

Flexural–torsional buckling of thin-walled composite box beams

open access: yes, 2007
Buckling of an axially loaded thin-walled laminated composite is studied. A general analytical model applicable to the flexural, torsional and flexural–torsional buckling of a thin-walled composite box beam subjected to axial load is developed.

Optimum buckling design of composite stiffened panels using ant colony algorithm [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Optimal design of laminated composite stiffened panels of symmetric and balanced layup with different number of T-shape stiffeners is investigated and presented. The stiffened panels are simply supported and subjected to uniform biaxial compressive load.

Post-Buckling Strength of Uniformly Compressed Plates

open access: yesTransactions of the VŠB - Technical University of Ostrava. Construction Series, 2010
In this paper it is discussed how existing analytical and semi-analytical formulas for describing the elastic-post-buckling behavior of uniformly compressed square plates with initial imperfections, for loads up to three times the buckling load can be simplified and improved.
