Results of a Graded Relaxing Incision Technique for Post Keratoplasty Astigmatism

Ophthalmic Surgery, Lasers and Imaging Retina, 1988
ABSTRACT A technique of graded relaxing incisions and compression sutures was performed for correction of post keratoplasty astigmatism in six patients who were spectacle and contact lens intolerant. Correction was achieved in all six patients after surgery, five with spectacles and one with a contact lens.

Combined Post-keratoplasty LASIK/AK to Treat High Astigmatism

2014
Refractive unpredictability and postoperative astigmatism are common complications following penetrating keratoplasty [1–5]. High astigmatism may result in decreased visual acuity, anisometropia, image distortion, and monocular diplopia, thus challenging the visual rehabilitation of patients [1].

[Results of transverse incisions in surgical correction of severe post-keratoplasty astigmatism].

Journal francais d'ophtalmologie, 1991
Results of a clinical study concerning 40 consecutive cases of high post-keratoplasty astigmatism corrected by the transverse keratotomy technique are presented and analysed. The protocol was determined for each case by keratometry and a qualitative analysis of the anterior corneal topography. The mean preoperative cylinder was 8.60 +/- 2.31 D.

[Implantation of toric intraocular lenses for correction of high post-keratoplasty astigmatism].

Der Ophthalmologe : Zeitschrift der Deutschen Ophthalmologischen Gesellschaft, 2002
High postkeratoplasty astigmatism remains a challenge for the surgeon. First experiences after implantation of a toric PMMA IOL in three eyes from patients with cataracts are reported. After routine phacoemulsification we implanted an individually manufactured toric PMMA posterior chamber IOL via a sclerocorneal 6-mm tunnel incision in three ...

Wedge resection in host cornea to correct post-keratoplasty astigmatism.

Ophthalmic surgery, 1979
The obvious problem with surgery of this nature is that the amount of wedge to be removed is partially guess work. Doctor Troutman's keratoscope attachment to his microscope is very helpful. I have tried thermokeratoplasty in a very similar case, but the disadvantages of pain, ulceration, vascularization, and considerable return to pre-burn K readings ...
