This study characterizes a newly‐described intervertebral fat pad (IVFP) anterior to rat IVDs, with evidence for its existence in mice and human IVDs as well. In rats, the IVFP gradually degenerated following IVD injury with changes in adipocyte size and fibrous tissue infiltration, suggesting it could play a functional role in IVD health and ...

Using microscopy and 3D confocal imaging on seven cadaveric eyes, we identified sympathetic nerves closely associated with β₂‐adrenergic receptor‐expressing macrophages in the human ciliary body (CB). These findings suggest a sympathetic‐macrophage neuroimmune link in the CB, potentially influencing ocular inflammation and degeneration, warranting ...

RNA and microRNA profiling for the determination of post mortem interval

The therapeutic role of exercise training during menopause for reducing vascular disease

Abstract figure legend Overview of multiscale cardiac remodelling in type 2 diabetes and how to model and simulate these changes using a human‐based, multiscale computational framework. Cardiac remodelling in type 2 diabetes occurs at ionic channel, protein, cellular, tissue and whole‐organ level, affecting the electrophysiological function, mechanical

Mechanical sensitization of sensory afferents after passive transfer of fibromyalgia IgG
Abstract figure legend In addition to widespread pain and fatigue, people with fibromyalgia (FM) experience sensory abnormalities and report lingering, painful sensations after touch or mechanical probing of the skin. Administration of IgG purified from FM patients to mice transfers symptoms and signs of FM.

Objective Unstructured electronic health record (EHR) data is increasingly used to enhance suicide risk modeling. Unfortunately, EHR reported death dates are frequently inaccurate. Including EHR data from after patients' deaths, or after suicidal actions which led to their deaths, potentially biases suicide prediction models.
